I wonder if IRL women are like the XueLing?…

I wonder if IRL women are like the XueLing? She's literally putting the reputation of people, including President Tang who she supposedly loves, on the line to undermine Mo Fei simply because she's jealous. Maybe some women really are that catty. She's a pretty terrible person, but she's banking on the love of the wrong person. President Tang's mother might think she's awesome, but he's not in love with her. And he doesn't seem the type to be easily bullied. In fact, when he finds out she's been so manipulative, she'll drop in his esteem and he might just tell her what he thinks of her behavior. She's being pretty foolish.

More cuteness and fluff. This girl is seriously cute. There isn't a whole lot of substance, but the episode was fun and the series is a nice way to pass the time. Kris Sun is gorgeous.

It's very pretty, no denying that. Feels a little bit rushed and a little over-dramatized, but I don't really mind. The clothes are gorgeous.

I'm not gonna lie. This is a hard episode. Betrayal stories are super tough for me anyway so I kinda felt everything Fushimi was going through. Don't get me wrong, it's a great episode, but it's depressing in that way only Japanese dramas seem to manage.

What a lovely ending. It's still the romantic ideal without a whole lot of realism thrown in, but as age-gap romances go, this one feels like it might make it. They're darling. And the entire episode is not devoted to the drama of wondering if they'll get together, which I appreciated. We actually spend some time with the two of them as a couple. This is one of my top 10 favorite dramas now. It's just so cute and innocent. It made me feel so warm and comfortable.

Ah yes, and here we are, heading into the finale. It's amusing really. I didn't like Takumi very much at the beginning, and there were some iffy moments in episodes 3 and 4 when I realized how manipulative he can be. Plus, I'm not sold on the age gap romances that get into the double digits because I know couples IRL who had an age-gap romance and have problems now. But it's still a romantic pipe dream, always has been, and always will be. Takumi seems better with Kiki. He can be himself, and that's precious. Although he's still not quite as honest about his feelings as he should be. We'll see what happens next.

Another good episode. This is pretty much the first time that Takumi and Kiki actually touch (not a show with much skinship if that's what floats your boat). Like most tsundere characters, Takumi isn't aware of his feelings enough to have made active choices. They always take such a passive approach romantically, and that's what we absolutely have going on here. To be fair, Takumi is the most likable tsundere character I've encountered. He's a pretty nice guy overall and Kiki helps develop that more human side of him.

It's nice to see a different side to Takumi.…

It's nice to see a different side to Takumi. This episode is entertaining but does feel like it's a bit too much on the filler side. And what is it with people going to hot springs as coworkers? It's so funny. Overall, a nice episode, but like I said, just a way to kill time until we get to the end of the series. Nakaramura-san kills it in black sweaters though. That man was made to wear black.

This was the hardest episode so far, lots of drama, but I actually enjoyed it a lot. This is the first time that I can remember where I've actually liked the ex-girlfriend of the ML. She's a sweetheart. And he gets caught in a web of his own making. I just feel so bad for the FL, so young, with all of these emotions, realizing she has a goal and a purpose for her life, and to suddenly have part of it ripped away. It's a great episode.

I wasn't sure what to think when I started since I'm not keen on tsundere characters. But by the end, I was actually shedding a couple of tears. There are some incredibly sweet moments here, and it's very real to watch someone who had dreams and then had them crushed only to be given a second chance at trying something new. The last 10 minute won me over to liking the ML, although I already love the actor. His show of support for her wasn't a physical touch or a hug but something much more lasting and meaningful. There's a lot of great potential here.

Another great episode, but there is an unfortunate…

Another great episode, but there is an unfortunate cyclical theme. Yamazaki has a great flash of inspiration as to what this particular case reminds him of (i.e. Ted Bundy, Zodiac, revenge suicide pact) and then KSBC director Shimibara repeats it. He says, "Ted Bundy." and then she responds with "Ted Bundy?" with a question mark. It happens in every episode and is a bit distracting by this point. It also makes Shimibara seems inept, unfortunately, like the lightbulb can't come on until Yamazaki's inspirational flashes. I'm going to give the presence of water in a -25 degree chamber the benefit of the doubt. I'm hoping that the antagonist just stepped into the hall to grab the bucket, even if it's not clearly shown. I am, however, not convinced that someone exposed to -25 temperatures for almost an hour wearing insufficient clothing would fully recover in a couple of hours with no side effects. There should have been some hypothermia side effects. But then Jack Bauer kept moving with all sorts of physical damage in the television show "24" so who am I to judge? This one may be the weakest episode of the series so far which is really a shame because this is the one that focuses so strongly on Fushimi's character and he's the one in peril.

I don't think I breathed once in the last couple of minutes of the episode. There is such a marvelous classic thriller vibe to this series. Every episode leads into the next one that leads into the next one, perfect for marathoning. Kamenashi is killing it. I love seeing him in this type of suspense role; he's so suited for it. I am LOVING this.

Doctors don't put their patients on IV drips just for kicks. Why would you take it off and not put it back in or at least get a doctor!? This girl isn't super bright about simple, common sense things.

I was so afraid this would end sadly. Thank goodness for small mercies. And we get to see Kame dance one last time. He makes my heart so happy.

She's right. She needs her own dream that's apart from his. It doesn't make this episode any less painful, though. I still don't fully understand Kei's motivation, to be honest. So that may just be poor writing since he was so desperate for her at the beginning and then really neglected her for reasons I can't say. It's hard when people run hot and cold like that.
