I was a bit disappointed with how the framing device of the documentary was used. Maybe it was just editing? "Plan A" didn't work in-universe, so why make it 90% of the premiere?

I think there was plenty fat to trim, the University/Work portions didn't do much to add characterization but it felt like killed a lot of the episodes's momentum. Many better ways to contrast Kasuga being successful and Hasegawa being dealt a tougher lot in life.

I found myself thinking "alright, please get to the point - show us them being 'off' [camera]". Get the audience in-the-know and shift to "Plan B" after getting enough of the hook.

I went in blind without reading any summaries, so I wasn't aware of the state of their relationship - just knowing that something was "off" and wanting to figure out exactly what.

Don't know why I'm so irked, maybe just from seeing the potential and it slightly missing the mark (personally). However, looking forward to the next episode now that we're no longer bound to "just the documentary".
