I don’t think you understand how much Rashta is hated in manhwa spaces, her character is infamous. Any actress who was bound to play Rashta wouldn’t gain many fans with this role ☠️

For the user who is annoying you on here, why don’t you reply back to the user your true feelings? I still think one or few fans do not represent a whole fanbase no matter how big or small it is.

And you don’t understand the meaning of Hallyu star. LSY is a popular actress in South Korea but she’s not a hallyu star, she’s known way less outside of SK. Being a hallyu actor has to do with high international popularity.

You can say this for almost all romance k-dramas but most viewers mainly watch romance dramas for the male lead, it’s not shocking because most romance k-drama viewers are heterosexual women who focus on hyping the male lead in romance dramas. Most women do not go crazy (in a positive way) over female characters in romance k-dramas. If you get what I’m trying to say, the Remarried Empress in the end is a romance k-drama with the main audience most likely being heterosexual women as the viewers for the drama.

I mean SMA, LJS, JJH are all top hallyu stars so they have huge fanbases. And I’ve seen fans of all of the leads on this page. Even arguing between some LJS and JJH fans. It’s best to block any user who annoys you.

Unfortunately, it’s true Lee Seyoung will have to deal with hate comments directed towards herself (not Rashta) because of her role in the drama. Rashta hate is one of the reasons the webtoon was successful and is also one of the most hated character in the manhwa community. I wasn’t joking when I said k-drama audience can’t separate actor from characters 🙃

To be honest, I hope there are no fanwars when there will be a cast member who gets the most attention or praise from the drama audience (like seen with Lovely Runner).

To be honest, I am scared Lee Seyoung as Rashta in The Remarried Empress is going to get the same massive hate (like slutshaming, death threats, misogynistic comments etc) Han Sohee got from her role in The World of the Married.

K-drama audience still don’t know how to separate actors from their characters.

It doesn’t help Lee Seyoung has the smallest fanbase out of all 4 of the lead actors and won’t have as many fans to defend her. It’s hard for an actress to gain any fans from this type of role.

And Rashta is character with low status + slave when k-drama audience usually prefer noble born characters.

she was great in what comes after love, i think it’s her best romance drama since the red sleeve plus it’s short. her acting in her other recent romance dramas like the law cafe, motel california etc. was good but it would be better interesting if the main plot was not romance and focus on being female centric. i’m surprised she got typecast in romance considering her amazing complex character in the red sleeve (deokim is still one of her top characters, one of the strongest kdrama female leads for me). it’s disappointing casting directors only seem to want her in romance genre and don’t consider that she would suit female centric plots very well.

the actress lee seyoung who got cast as rashta is typecast lately so i think its perfect for her to play a villain character like rashta to change her image. i’m saying this because lee seyoung is mostly known for the red sleeve (ngl this drama typecast her in romance genre and i see her getting criticized for only doing romance dramas since 2021) and her character deokim is the complete opposite of rashta.
