I think DYX would give SH same chance if they had similar circumstances but their circumstances are different…
i do wish for yx and sh he treated her with respect from the beginning. their beginning rlly soured them for me because he was so bad at communicating, even during the half sister arc when he was in love with her and should've trusted her enough to confide in her, even if he was doing it for her own good or whatever they said. he’s lucky sh was so in love with him and forgiving. i think it’s cus i hate misunderstanding and weird breakup tropes the most, but that’s just my preference lol
i love how shen allows haode to be with her at his workplace and have her say in the cases. when he dragged her by the hand so she could meet the new official, damn he can not let her out of his site (i understand it's probably cus he wanted the new official to take the case of her in-law lol but a girl can dream)!! du yangxi could never!!! even tho his wife is just as intelligent and knowledgeable. i hope after he gains his memory he includes his wife just as much because they r adorable working on cases together. this is exactly the vibe i expected perfect match to be and we didnt get these dynamics until ep 20
I love your comment, but I don’t think Haode is aloof at all. She’s quiet and fades into the background, but…
I agree, I think she was overshadowed a lot by kangning but i can remember multiple times in the earlier eps were haode acted maturely and protected her sisters. Oh Im sorry I was typing this comment when I was half asleep, I didn’t mean to call her aloof, I meant foolish or frivolous, 😭because of the many scenes where her and the youngest were always playing around, but really she was very wise and responsible when it mattered, especially when her family needed help. Even though she cries a lot and makes impulsive decisions, she is so sweet and caring. I really love the focus she is getting now, she is my fav sister so far. I like how you compare her to Kitty from pride and prejudice, kitty was such a hopeless romantic and really sweet and i think similar qualities are reflected to haode. i’m excited for the adopted sister, whom i liken to Mary, the overlooked sister. I think her romance will also be interesting because the sisters’ brother will come back from the dead lol
i'm glad i kept giving this drama a chance because fourth sister's romance has really brought the spark back for me. one thing i'm liking about her romance is how both of them are at equal footing and he's not treating her like shes under him. even before he lost his memory, he listened to her in court and treated her with respect. she's the only one whose choice of partner seemed even remotely justified imo, his character was very commendable and you could tell why she took a liking to him. However, it was unfortunate that Shen was forced into the marriage. But even then, what I love most is that she respected his wishes and never forced his feelings to change for her. I actually expected quite the opposite behavior from fourth sister based on how foolish and playful they've shown her throughout the episodes. Surprisingly, their sense of morality and respect is very similar (despite pre-memory loss shen being just a little twisted in his sense of righteousness), making them such a great fit. Their case solving partnership is very very enjoyable and I like how we are seeing some other genres besides just straight up romance, we are also getting some legal cases in the mix and the couple solving them with a little bit of teamwork, which is really cute. I think their relationship will bloom gradually from a brother-sister comrade-type alliance to something more when Shen sees how, despite seeming innocent & naive, she is actually very intelligent, loyal and righteous, which i am so looking forward to.
He's not beating her, but intended to beat her maid. She just happen to block it with her body so she got the…
oh im glad that's the case then, i wonder what the context is. but her marriage seems so unhappy though im really sad. i guess their switching the plum for the peach strategy wont work that well, maybe until later
i just saw a future ep preview and the scholar guy is literally beating first sister with a whip. i hope it's…
i wish this drama took a similar approach to flourished peony. would've loved to see more focus on the li family's woman-run business and how they rise up in a male-dominated field thanks to the talents and intelligence of the daughters. with all the spouses as secondary characters and the daughters as first and foremost
i just saw a future ep preview and the scholar guy is literally beating first sister with a whip. i hope it's only someones imagination or there's some backstory behind it because that was so out-of-pocket. first sister suffered the most and looks like she will suffer again with a wife-beater (again, i really hope its not true). at this point i only have hope left for fourth sister and the adopted sister, i think their romances will be the least problematic 😭😭😭
the top left is the foster daughter, she doesn't get counted as part of the "5 Li sisters" but is treated as part…
i think their brother is still alive bc they didnt find the body. from the drama's outro, looks like the brother was raised to be an accomplished person, and he will marry the adopted sister. only speculations though but i hope this is true because i really like the adopted sister
the netizens are right for this opinion. i just saw a future ep preview and the scholar guy is literally beating first sister with a whip (apparently it's on accident bc he's beating the maid? idk). i hope it's only someones imagination or there's some backstory behind it because that was so out-of-pocket. first sister suffered the most and looks like she will suffer again with a wife-beater (again, i really hope its not true)
besides this the kidnap "prank" just did not sit right with me, especially when they were touching the girls "to scare them", and the whole time the girls thought that they were the kidnappers, like thats actually messed up
i also do agree that the writing of the drama is a bit shallow. i was hoping we would get to see more focus on the girls and their individual passions and the whole family's journey towards being successful in their woman-run business. i was expecting something like flourished peony, which i LOVED. i loved how that drama showed a woman rising high in a male dominated field, with ML almost like a side piece supporting her along the way. I really expected something similar for PM, but in a more lighthearted comedy way with some more family-focus. it kind of sucks that this isn't the approach they went for.
another thing, while the leads have great visual chemistry, the actual chemistry isn't really well-developed thanks to the odd writing and the fast-paced nature of their relationship. with how fast the ML fell for FL, i thought they had some previous connection, it just didn't seem very natural and like a true haters-to-lovers cdrama romance, like they were seemingly marketing it. however this is not rlly the biggest deal, just something that bothered me a little
now that third sister is married off, i wonder how they will progress with the drama. just jump the story's focus from sister to sister until they are all married? im guessing next focus of the drama will be first sister with the scholar.
chongzhao and fuling didnt even get to hold each other for a final time 😭😭😭😭😭 but i guess in the end they were reunited when the bow's arrow killed moli
is there any other drama that does angsty marriage of convenience AFTER the leads go from strangers to developing feelings for each other , i loved how this trope played out
For the love of God someone with authority PLEASE change this profile bio picture because he's better looking…
i tried to but i cant find a recent photo that fits the mdl guidelines 😭😭if u can find one that would be great; it has to be in color, fully visible front-facing face, and solid background
