if this was a cdrama, FL would have ended up with lee shin won, lee heon's wife would have been secretly alive (she ran away because palace life was overwhelming for her) and he would abandon the throne to be with her, and lee shin won would turn out to be lee heon's secret half-brother, thus he becomes the next in line to take the throne. i liked what they did with the plot, but i would've much rather preferred this hypothetical lol
talking about the actual plot, i wish they introduced hwayun earlier, i really loved her character and wish her and SML had more scenes together
also seeing noh minwoo in a drama these days, even a guest role, always brightens my day :) i'm glad to see him back
finally got to watch and wow, what a horror genre debut ! very interesting, but definitely think that slice of life continues to be director shinobu's specialty lol
now THIS is what I call a slowburn, their relationship was so genuine omg. perfect balance of comedy, slice of life, found family, adventure, romance. truly a gem of a drama
omg! if there’s some romance, people complain that it shouldn’t have been. if there’s no romance, people…
hahaha i understand what you mean. i'm a big nonromance enjoyed though, so i will never say there's too little romance lol. even though the romance was still pretty nice, it just felt like it should have been a more side plot because at one point it seemed like they started giving it more screentime over the actual "save the company" plot. but feel free to disagree, i know everyone has different preferences
my only complaint is that i think this drama would have been more meaningful with a little less romance, and more focus on the zero-to-hero story, while also highlighting the stories of each of typhoon trading employees to give it more nuance. i'm surprised that people didn't enjoy this drama because i really loved it. it's one of the few retro 80s-90s kdramas that doesn't have a miserable and nonsensical ending. the villains were a little one dimensional, especially bakho's son, but i thought bak ho was a really interesting villain character, just wish he stayed the main villain and the dumb kidnapping thing didn't happen
I can see what you mean but I think in this show the leads are actually both blood relatives of the orphan in…
yeah, no worries, i got that. i know usually they'll disclose if it were a remake of an american film, but honestly this plot is way too similar for it not to be inspired.
Were you able to finish the show? Wanted to ask if the women got some sort of justice in the end. I'm at ep. 3,…
yes, i finished it, but the ending was definitely not satisfying enough. there was barely any female rage, it was more just silent and bottled up. i still enjoyed it, but i wish there was more of a revenge element to the story

yeah thats a slight difference im seeing between the premise of this drama and life as we know it. i really enjoyed the leads' dynamics in life as we know it and considering the premise is so similar for this drama, i'm excited to see something adjacent to that, like the haters to unlikely found family vibe

one thing though, the leads have zero chemistryyy. this series honestly didn't even need romance (sho x naoki seemed more believable lmao)
also was jumpscared by higashide masahiro, can't believe he's still even employed in the industry
