so many people very passionately mad at mingyi over here but this is just my take bcus i think both mingyi and ji bozai's reactions and choices are reasonable for their characters.

yeah mingyi shouldve told him but shes also suffered a lot of abuse it would be hard to tell him her identity. while both characters have been abused and not had much love in their lives the 2 have different approaches to it. mingyi was taught to hide herself and do what shes told to as she is handed things while ji bozai needed to put himself out there in order to get those opportunities and to survive. mingyi has also approached her love from the thought that it is going to end someday while ji bozai has known from the beginning that he would stick with her forever. And thats not bcus she loves him any less but because she doesnt understand that love truly can be unconditional. her not understanding that love can be unconditional was supported by ji bozai's immediate hatred of her when he found out she was related to ming xian. now that shes finally feeling love again shes scared to lose it. shes about to tell him when he talks to her in such a loving way that she is unable to tell him the truth and ruin it all. it goes back to how mingyi's mother would be there for her but if she didnt do what she wanted to she would lock her up and abandon her. ji bozai was abused horribly and imo worse then her (cus he was literally a slave) but even then he had glimpses of kindness and grace as he was saved by someone. ji bozai also has never had to hide who he is (tho he has had intersting personas) mingyi was manipulated her whole life and other then 27 no one not even her mentor knew she was a woman and only 27 and sl has known she is ming xian.

he didnt take heavenly grief i think he may have put more power into her last blossom by sacrificing himself into her. she said that gives her only a few more days to live so i think it was a temporary way to give her more time. dont worry i think the two of them will reconcile after a few episodes

yeah so i hope this isnt too much of a spoiler for you but just as a layout - we had 2 kisses (not exactly out of love) by ep 13 but by the end of that episode they were then enemies as the first major betrayal happens. the two dont really confront their feelings till episode 19 which is when theres another kiss. and now by ep 23 theres another betrayal that seems will make them enemies again for a few episodes. so 3 kisses so far but from my count from the trailers theres at least 3 more. this is a back and forth enemies to lovers to enemies so thats why the kiss count is so low but the characters themselves are very physical and flirty with each other for the beginning 13 episodes. theres been a few almost kisses

im glad im not the only one bcus i feel kinda silly analyzing lmao. but its helping me cope with the upcoming betrayal knowing theres a reconcile after a few episodes. from what i can tell i think theres at least 3 more if im counting right

i feel like jbz mustve immediately regret not asking her why bcus of the way he shows up when sl is carrying mingyi off. I've seen spoilers (not sure if theyre true) that jbz ends up following mingyi around in secret and learns her identity then but i think thats in ep 24. i think in the trailer it looked kinda like they were fighting together the way she jumped up behind him. at least i hope its that. I think from the trailer there are at least 3 more kisses in this drama so they must reconcile again. my only fear is whether or not one of them will die in the end bcus wuxia's love killing off one of the leads in the last episode

anyways im so m upset about sl i hope she doesnt end up with him a ton in the coming episodes I'd rather her look for an antidote by herself.

I love everyones shared dread of the evil ep 23. I think we all need to collectively take deep breaths about tomorrow and decide not to watch again till ep 25 is out😀its not good for our mental health

I really hope its not situ ling but the coat does like lighter then what ji bozai wears so it seems like its probably situ ling😭
