anyways i know everyone is going to be here for the ml but i gotta say im liking the fl too. I've never watched any of her dramas before but so far i really like her i hope she doesnt get overlooked. I saw someone saying how she rarely gets any cool aesthetic shots compared to him which im sure is part of her not being as big as he is rn.

I really like the leads relationship so far and how both leads are smart and know martial arts but i already feel like i need to prepare for a big fight that separates them cus everytime I watch a wuxia there is rarely a long period of peace between the leads😭😭especially since ml is keeping secrets. I'm going to wait till this drama ends to continue watching cus i make it a rule not to watch a wuxia without knowing the ending cus im someone who likes these dramas but needs to be mentally prepared for whats coming💀

You know sometimes I just wish we could have a fantasy drama without the constant backstabbing and misunderstandings or a revenge drama where the leads just stay consistent allies throughout but oh well.

right i agree that he seems like one who was probably adopted and that is his point for revenge. cus no matter who he is he obviously cared for that man a lot. I dont trust any of the characters but the leads so far every drama i watch in this genre everyone betrays everyone and is two faced😭

I know everyone loves this drama but I just can't im sorry. He was way too much of a jerk for the majority of this drama I dont care his reasonings or redemption I just actually feel disgusted watching the entire first half of this drama bcus of him. Its to the point that when i see the character on screen even when they have reconciled and he has atoned for how he treated her i still feel so disgusted by him. idk how everyone was able to eventually accept them getting back together.

I love bai lu (FL actress) but pls her fans are a little wild. I remember when she first started getting big multiple of her characters would be so controversial that the hate would move past the character and onto the actress. Now i think bcus of all that hate she got, her fans are just absolutely unhinged and are constantly on the defense of her and her characters, taking everything way too seriously. which then backfires on them bcus everyone finds them annoying and adds even more hate back onto bai lu😭😭

but yeah whenever i watch an airing bai lu drama there is always crazy fights here in the comments which is why i end up not reading them or waiting to watch her dramas till theyve finished airing to watch when everyone has calmed down and moved on.

there is slight romance from what i've been seeing here in the comments. It's not a main thing tho but a subplot. i think i remember seeing that they are together in ep 28 so im assuming a slow burn.

I only just started this drama on ep 2 but I was wondering can anyone spoil for me whether or not she remembers him? because didnt she recognize him from that flashback in ep 1?

Also in the sequence of the beginning of ep 1 where she is doing her little introduction voice over, are those events that happened before the show began or are those previews of what is coming in the rest of the drama

no reason to be so passive aggressive lmao she may just be someone who doesnt know Chinese history like that and assumed that "republican era" was 20th century in general and thought dramas inbetween the historical and modern ones dont do well. I mean I'm not gonna lie I've watched cdramas since 2020 and I didnt really know what "republican" dramas were till 2024 i thought it was just 1920s and assumed all dramas with that costume style were set then. not everyone is automatically smart like u💀😭

When was this filmed? It seems out of genre and lower budget then what he chooses for his more recent projects. He looks a lot younger in these pictures too. Also does anyone know what his most recent project is? I feel like both this and his other drama that hasnt been released yet were filmed years ago. I'm sorry but I've known since she talked about losing weight for marry my husband that this is an ED and not no losing weight for a role (she has cancer for maybe 10minutes of the entire show and maybe 1 chapter of the original webtoon). She was praised for losing weight back then and her "dedication" to the role but as someone who has struggled with disordered eating habits it was and is so obvious that she's using these characters as an excuse for her weight loss and a way to validate her eating disorder.

even before marry my husband she had drastic weight change from her earlier dramas like healer and secretary kim so this is obv something shes been struggling with for a long time. its to the point where its hard for me bcus as i struggle with body image and ed issues its triggering for me to watch her dramas now which is so disappointing bcus marry my husband was like my favorite webtoon at the time it came out and she is genuinely a talented actress. I truly hope she gets help and that people stop giving her the attention she wants through it. I am here commenting that so it may seem hypocritical but im telling u people with ED's love to hear how skinny and even sickly they look.
