Time machine always disappears with the person whether they go to the future or past but around 55mins the time machine was still there at the present which was technically not possible bcz komoto's friends rode it back to past. Except for several plot holes here n there apart from the one I mentioned the movie was decent.
Very rare to find an actor who actually looks good n very serious with blonde hair. There's not much drama or any plot depth, still enjoyed this bcz of their acting,good music n direction except that bed scene shooting at ep.9 was funny though.
Waste of amazing cast especially Robin Furuya. Tonnes of amazing mangas n novels with good plot out there n they always use similar plots like this whether it's office romance or first love returns.
The theme is based on how Capitalism ruins the peaceful n beautiful Nature ,it could've been a good environmentalist fable but I don't like when Japanese directors add shock factor in the end which are inconsistent with the theme .
So this movie was more about the MC Takumi than social commentary on capitalism n it's adverse effect on environment or anything else as the synopsis suggests. I found it below average.
Could have been better.I was so bored.It was scary as I am alone but again I get scared watching all horror movies when I'm alone,it was different I give it that but that's it.I would say it's the worst of all the movies I have watched of Kiyoshi San.
A psychological horror movie where there's no jump scare n ghosts with good sound score n acting. The movie is subtle n so much is left for viewer's interpretation. I dint like it as much as other Kiyoshi san's movies n i have watched most of his movies ,this was really different n actually better than his previous horror n the horror movies coming out these days.
Good casting ,I really liked Ai's slow acting n movements but it could have been used in better plot. Taiga's outbursts seemed really fake n odd whereas he is a good actor.
There are a lot of Japanese movies n mangas based on unrequited one sided love which are very good ,this movie was no different theme wise but the women getting crazy n ruining everyone's life around them for a guy who we don't even see throughout the movie n that guy isn't even good,we don't know where he is then he suddenly shows up in the end like some mysterious angel n then out of nowhere our MC has changed n redeemed herself , everything about the plot was really nonsense n inconsistent . Better skip this.
It wasn't that emotional that would make u cry but still a very sad movie. I don't know how to feel about the ending, i found the father somewhat selfish? Kindhearted but selfish, everyone in this movie had an ulterior motive in helping others so this dint make me emotional but it was realistic, that's how people really are. Not good as Ozu san's other movies ,some scenes were really nice so i recommend this.
I liked the Friendship arc in this movie,the unlikely friendship between alcoholic but honest doctor n a local thug who is dying,it was enjoyable n catchy at first then it got unnecessarily dramatic n very boring after the arrival of Okada.Disappointing

Even if i hate rapists the rapist in this movie was worst kind, poor Tamae just wanted a little help n he couldn't even do that.
