China has very strict censorship laws in like transmission and time travel dramas, I am not so sure what is not allowed but basically unrealistic stories like the FL staying in the past happily ever after wont be approved. They have to make it ambiguous to past censorship.
Its quite complicated.

No worries, I realized this has been a ongoing trend where the shows upload like secret or additional endings to avoid the censorship laws in China. Not sure if you watched Different Princess but there was an extension of their ending scene too.

But if i had one gripe was that with this additional ending scene of Peacock in Wonderland we dont see them reunite in the same frame which made me feel like they filmed it on different days

I also saw a lot of comments on Douyin about people complaining about the ending and it even turned a lot of people away from watching or completing the series like do Directors/producers not know what their audience want ?
