As a long-time fan of the donghua (might be an understatement considering link click is genuinely my favorite show of all time) and an avid japanese drama enjoyer, I'm enjoying this a lot. I believe this is a very solid series even as a standalone. I definitely highly recommend it whether you're familiar with the original work or not.
