A beautiful melody that hit all the right notes!!
I don't get why this is getting so much hate and backlash from all the reviews but it's definitely one of the best dramas I have seen for 2020! Watching this put me on an emotional rollercoaster for 2 days. I randomly played this from the title suggestions on Netflix because it's a story about playing the piano (personally it's one of my childhood frustrations) but boy was I completely caught off-guard with all its surprises! Right of the bat I thought the plot was a bit childish and teeny-bopper-y (which I did enjoy, mind you) but it slowly developed and escalated into a mature and profound depiction of self-growth and unconditional love. It also effectively convinces you that both can be integrated not separated. The characters were all fantastic, how they each navigated throught their struggles and did not fail to serve each others' pillar of strength. I loved how the writer intertwined their stories into little plot twists and and there were so many compelling scenes that would still drive you on the edge of your seat despite knowing fully well that twists are the standard formula of KDramas. And the piano music was perfectly and beautifully incorporated into the whole journey! Who knew that Twinkle Twinkle Little Star could sound so romantic?? Gosh I'm just speechless! I just couldn't be happier about watching this. Go Ara and Lee Jae Wook had a sparkling chemistry (despite their 8-year age gap), and they truly executed their characters to an unexpectedly emotionally penetrative level (I can't count the number of times they both made my tears burst).
P.S. I am fully satisfied about the ending and I don't need any explanation or backstory whatsoever. It's the kind of situation where you love and care about the characters so much that you just want them to get what they deserve without the need question or justify anything! Props to the writer for conveying us that message!
