Lee Jae Wook is such a talented actor, so why does he have so many haters? What's worse is that they almost always…
Say it louder for the people in the back!!
I’m so sick of the haters and so called ‘fans’ dragging LJW for being brave enough to challenge himself with different stories and roles and knocking it out of the park from an acting perspective every single time. Ultimately that’s all that is in his control - scripts can be changed after the fact.
Btw, Doctor on the Edge is still 11 globally on Disney+, more than a week after it wrapped - super impressive for the kind of low key healing medical human romance drama it is
Victim of his own success. But tbh this drama is meh, even by rom com standards. It isn't garbage, but very forgettable.
There were 3 teasers / trailers though - one was more focused on medical , one more on romance, 3rd had a bit of everything. And it was described as a medical human romance..
Different strokes for different folks I guess, really loved this one! The comedy especially in the earlier episodes was top tier and I liked the realistic portrayal of someone overcoming their trauma bit by bit (not just saved by love overnight). It’s fun to see the atypical ML get the girl. The villagers all grew on me and some of the medical cases were surprisingly heartwarming. It’s not the best drama I’ve ever watched but it was so fun, comforting and engaging.
The ending really resonated with me. Wouldn’t have wanted to see FL just go wherever the ML goes on his PH posting. Much better that she’s back to chasing her dreams and I’m sure they’ll get through the 2-year mini LDR just fine after all they’ve gone through together.
Only thing I found unnecessary was the love triangle but that was never a real thing and resolved pretty quickly early on.
Was very impressed with SYE in her emotional scenes and LJW really showed what he could with physical comedy on top of completely nailing every emotional scene as well.
Don’t go in expecting any genre because it’s a mix of everything. If you go in looking for a rom com you’ll be disappointed. But if you are just looking for a fun and warm drama with some rom com this is a good one.
I’m so happy that the show stuck the landing!!! Loved the final episode, wrapped everything up so nicely and even tees ji-ui up for a new challenge. Loved the kiss scenes in the last 2 episodes - finally!! 🔥💕
There is something about LJW and SYE’s chemistry that I really can’t get enough of. I feel like I’ll rewatch a lot of the episodes again and again as a comfort watch.
Can’t wait for the last 2 episodes! Crossing my fingers and toes for happiness for the whole pyeongdong-do crew and not just in the last episode please!!! PLEASEEEE
Surely when ji-ui and hari were stranded on the island - after the emergency, they would have slept in the same room right?? Prob tired and just collapsing next to each other but still it would have been so cute
Surely there has been more moments of them doing something cute together beyond just meals? Taking a walk, watching a movie next to each other, hari showing ji-ui another secret pyeongdong-do spot?
They’re such a cute couple, the chemistry between LJW and SYE is so good I really need moreeeeeee
The last drama I watched of ljw was dear hongrang and he had such intimate scenes there I'm convinced he's a good…
There’s no doubt he’s a great kisser! His kiss in Alchemy of Souls S2 is one for the history books 🔥 If ji-ui doesn’t get at least one proper kiss in the final 2 episodes I’m gonna riot 😢
Sad to see how much Ji-ui is suffering… though really sweet to see how Hari is telling Ji-ui exactly what he needs to hear and there for him to lean on, and also letting him do it in his rhythm.
I think Ji-ui and Hari have some of the warmest, and most intimate hugs I’ve ever seen in dramas… I still want more kisses but the way they sink into each other when they hug makes me feel things.
Please please please give enough time for happiness and love and fluffiness in the final 2 episodes!!
Btw, shoutout to 2ML for the sharp turnaround from unnecessary obstacle to Mr. Cupid!
Loved episode 9 so much! It’s the little things between Ji-ui and Hari and the way they bring each other so much warmth and joy and healing… I love it so much.
But YES please we need more kiss scenes and intimacy!!
I respectfully disagree with you on that one. I didn't give this one a rating, only watched half of the first…
I think AI is more ubiquitous already than it seems and it makes sense for production teams to be making use of new technology. It feels particularly unfair to blame teams that are honest about AI usage vs those who simply do not disclose it but use it anyway. Human roles always evolve when new technologies come about - there’ll be fewer of some roles and there’ll be more of new ones. There is a whole world in between AI slop and amazing art with some AI embellishments and it feels simplistic to see things as just one or the other. Most of us already use AI in our day to day work and it’s us as humans that prevent ourselves from regurgitating AI slop. It feels unfair to assume that these talented directors and production teams are not capable of assuring the quality of what they use AI for.
11 years ago when CGI became a thing people had a lot of the same fears and concerns. We still have special effects artists but now we have CGI roles too. We’re now worried that these CGI and graphic artist roles will become obsolete but they’re just going to evolve. That’s what progress means and it’s uncomfortable but it always creates a lot of new opportunities.
