That was some messy way of wrapping things up. The rush the important bits of the plot to the end, had too many…
I thought I was the only one. Personally I liked the first 20 episodes better, her on the Pearl farm, on the boat, and then out to the dockyard/ western regions. Pretty much after DW became SMZ it lost me. I followed on because of the commitment. She basically had no relationship (or a very blurry one) with YZJ until the end (were they together were they not? And I found his plot somewhat unfinished too. His character was very much secondary ( I know ZLS had first billing and the plot is female centric) after they got to Yangzhou. They dragged out the bad guys plot and it was rushed towards the end.
Am I the only one who feels bamboozled by the writer in ep 18. Like everything seems illogical to me and this…
I think the main part of the misunderstanding is that black bandit spies infiltrated his convoy, and all the friends that died said “the yan trading convoy” was trying to kill them. So HE was trying to kill them. Obviously that makes no logical sense hence she goes looking for him demanding an explanation. Him trying to push her away so he can embark on his dangerous revenge suicide mission + ticking time bomb health-wise as the witch doctor is dead is truly the noble idiocy trope played out well.
The stab was pretty good. I like her being so cold hearted. But him cleaning the hair pin and giving it back to…
Undoubtedly the best part of the episode. His loving eyes as he watched her stab him and the tears that out poured when he cleaned the pin and put it back in her hair. 😭
Episode 17 is really the tipping point! Such a turn of events from the past 16 eps. The humour has toned down and they’re both suss of each other. Really wish CXZ told LMT the truth. It’s going to be revealed in the next ep!!
It was really heartbreaking seeing her ask him questions about their past, wake up and split blood from the heartache 💔
Yeah it is boring but it does get better. I read it will improve once they get back to the capital. I am on ep…
Thanks. I read in one of the comments below that this is not a 'binge' drama. And I agree. I'm struggling to keep up to date with the eps - usually for a faster-paced drama, I'm up to date and keen for upcoming releases...
It gets much better as it goes on, especially after they move to the capital.
Thanks, I'll try to see it out for a few more eps and see if I begin to like it more. Getting through the current eps has been a struggle - which is a telltale sign that I'm not enjoying it.
you're not alone. On ep 5, and its kinda boring to me. hoping to get it better.
Glad to hear that I'm not alone. Some dramas, pull you in from ep 1. So far, I finished ep 4 (now onto ep 5), and I'm finding the zornia case with the General quite slow-paced. Like not much as happened.
Am I the only person who hasn’t gotten absorbed into this drama? I am a big fan of LYX and his acting capabilities, but this drama seems slow/boring to me. I’m currently on ep 4. I’ve yet to find it super funny too (I know it’s meant to be a comedy). Keen to hear other’s thoughts and whether I should stick with it.
The moment he opens his mouth, I keep thinking Tantai Jin 🤣 The voice has officially been embedded into my…
I really like how LYX uses his real voice. I’ve only seen a few of his dramas, including TTEOTM, but his voice is definitely synonymous with TTJ. He’s got a lovely tone too.

Unfortunately from the ep 13-14 preview, I don’t think Shiqi is his sister.
Let’s see

WCR’s voice is a bit different, as I noted in Fireworks in my Heart.
Is this faster paced and worth a shot?
