Korean netizens have this hounding culture where a vocal minority can kick up a huge fuss over nothing & sometimes…
I am aware that K-netizens are often excessively strict and impose unrealistic standards. The question is where they draw the line, if there is one at all. Is there any system in Korea to regulate this kind of behavior and protect production teams? That level of collective scrutiny could be directed toward real problems, you know what I mean?
I ended up dropping this show because the storyline just didn’t really hold my interest. Later, I started seeing discussions online about the controversy surrounding Perfect Crown and the claims that it misrepresented certain cultural and historical aspects. As an international viewer, I’m genuinely curious about how local audiences see this issue. From my perspective, there are many Western shows like Bridgerton or Emily in Paris that also portray cultures and historical settings inaccurately or rely on stereotypes. Even so, people usually treat them as fictional entertainment rather than something that should be completely cancelled over creative liberties or minor inaccuracies. So I’m trying to understand the difference here. Is the criticism toward Perfect Crown mainly about historical inaccuracies, or do local viewers feel the show crossed a more serious line regarding cultural sensitivity and representation? If you’re Korean or more familiar with the local perspective, I’d honestly appreciate hearing your thoughts because I feel like there may be cultural context international fans are missing.
I’ll admit, after watching Hidden Love, I wasn’t interested in this show at first. More than a year later, I started seeing reviews of it on social media, and they finally made me curious enough to give it a chance. This show completely caught me off guard. I can’t believe I slept on it for an entire year before finally watching it. What impressed me most was how emotionally restrained yet intense the romance felt — the yearning and tension were written far better than in Bridgerton, in my opinion. Instead of relying purely on dramatic scenes, the show let the emotions build naturally through small moments and character interactions, which made the relationship feel much more believable and satisfying. It’s rare to find a drama that balances chemistry, storytelling, and emotional payoff this well. I genuinely loved it!!!! ❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰
I’m into it so far! The action scenes are definitely a highlight and keep me interested, but I can tell it’s going for a slow burn. I don’t mind that, I just hope it doesn’t get too dragged out before things really start to hit.
My thoughts on this show it is full of hidden identities and romantic misunderstandings and had potential, but kind of just wandered around without fully going anywhere. The cinematography though? Absolutely stunning! The female lead is cute and a great actress, doing her best to keep things on track while the story takes its sweet time. Overall, it’s gorgeous to look at… just don’t expect the plot to keep up 😅
Mina Sue’s strategy? Confuse everyone and call it a plot twist 💀🎭. Like, we see all your BS. But Min-ji, my queen, COME TO THE FRONT — you’re pure vibe and aura 🔥🔥🔥. Seung Il better not play you like that.
KHY understood the assignment. The writers clearly did not. It’s like watching KHY babysit a bad script. KHY always delivers legendary performance! My thoughts so far–

This actress is undeniably beautiful, almost goddess-like. However, I’m not particularly impressed by her acting. Although I’ve watched several of her projects, I often find it difficult to connect her performances to the storyline. The characters she portrays feel limited, and she doesn’t come across as very versatile. Her facial expressions also tend to be restrained and guarded at times, which weakens emotional impact. With her looks and the acting depth of someone like Kim Tae-ri, she could dominate every category—but unfortunately, that potential hasn’t been realized yet, in my opinion.
I feel the judges are bias in their judgement. I wish they had a third judge. Overall S1 seem more entertaining to watch than S2. I would watch the show again if they have S3
This movie has a unique storyline and I did enjoyed watching. I highly recommend this film but be aware it’s slow paced and it create curiosity and reflecting which character to believe.
