We Are All Trying

One thing that amazed me about this drama is the number of different characters and how we somehow grew attached to all of them. They are all incredibly endearing, and you can relate to each of them in one way or another.

There were times when I felt like I had enough of this drama, yet somehow I already miss them. It is a slow, healing drama about passion, dreams, and life. It reminds us that regardless of what we are going through, we are all trying our best
.
Koo Kyo Hwan is definitely not an actor I actively follow, but I know that when he is in a drama, it is going to be good. On that note, Go Youn Jung is the queen of picking scripts. Her range will forever amaze me and how different each of her characters feels from the last.

If Only They Became Friends

I fell in love with the cinematography from the very first episode. The drama was beautifully made. Maybe because I’ve watched so many detective dramas before, I guessed the culprit by the second episode. The following episodes were just me being gaslit into thinking I was wrong while stressing over how the story unfolded.

There were parts where it lost my interest. I think fewer episodes would have made the drama even stronger.

My doomed bromance. My doomed lovers. I will forever cry about them.

This story is a sad reflection of reality, where the people who are supposed to protect used the power given to them to protect their selves.

I think the ending was quite realistic. Some injustices are simply brought to light, not served with justice.

Disturbingly Good

No words. This was an amazing watch, and I have no idea why I kept putting it off. It was thrilling, gripping, and genuinely scary. The actors, writers, directors, and cinematography were all outstanding.

At first, I thought, “Was that it?” Then I was hit with another twist. “Okay, it should be over by now.” Nope. There was still an hour left to torture my emotions. Highly recommend this to everyone.

Bonus: Lee Do Hyun in a man bun and hot tattoos.

Bored

Boring. While some of the horror elements are genuinely unsettling, the film as a whole fails to keep things engaging. The storytelling is weak, the visual effects range from low to mediocre, and the script lacks impact. Several side plots feel unnecessary and don’t add anything meaningful to the overall story, making the movie feel unfocused and forgettable.

Watching at midnight was not a good idea

I haven’t felt genuinely scared watching a horror K-drama, or anything in the horror genre, in a while. This one had me reaching for my phone just to watch something wholesome and distract myself. I looked away so many times that I honestly feel like I missed parts of the story.

The peak of my interest came during the backstory of the curse, but they kind of lost me afterward. The tension they built dipped when the story returned to the present, and I found that part a teeny bit boring. To be fair, I also feel that the storyline set in the past, along with the actors in those scenes, took the drama to another level. That is not surprising since Kim Si-A is known for being an amazing actress. Her future is extremely bright.

The way they wrapped up the final episode hinted at a possible Season 2, which seems to be the trend these days. If they do make one, I hope we get more of Haetsal’s backstory and learn how she ended up becoming a shaman.

If there ever is a Season 2, will I watch it? Yes! But will I hate that they made one because I know it will give me nightmares? HELL YES!
