"Ever since I was little, I've been extremely sensitive to sound. Good music feels like something that's etched into my bones, it's as if it's part of my cells, something that's simply grown into who I am.
I may have originally debuted as a singer, but after debuting, it gradually felt like I was getting farther and farther away from being a singer.
When I was on drama sets, I'd see senior artists performing on New Year's galas and major televised events and I'd think, I really envy them. The only thing I could do was keep working quietly and never give up.
In fact, it was me who first suggested singing OSTs for the dramas I was in. The director would ask, 'You can sing?' And I'd say, 'I can sing, Director, I used to be a singer.' From there, I'd gradually try to convince the director to let me sing the OST. Then one day the director would say, 'Okay, you can sing it.'
The same went for variety shows. Whenever there was an opportunity to sing with another artist or teacher, no matter who it was, even if I only got to sing a single line, I would do it. And I was always grateful for those opportunities.
In 2025, I performed at the Spring Festival Gala. That one call of 'Tanggula' felt like the beginning of reopening the chapter of Singer Hou Minghao, or perhaps a small breakthrough that marked the return of that identity."
Hmh: "I think it's important to stay clear-headed about who I am and where I stand at all times. But I don't dwell too much on who Hou Minghao used to be. What I focus on is who I want to become in the future.”
Q: “If you hadn’t become a singer, what do you think would have happened?”
Hmh: “When I'm old, I know I would regret it. I'd regret not giving it everything I had when I was young. I'd regret it deeply and I don't like that.
I think the song Simon has given me a lot of strength. What I want to tell everyone is this: no matter how lost or uncertain the journey may feel, once you have a goal, just keep moving toward it and keep working for it. When you're young, you should dare to take risks and dare to act. Accept the choices you make, and when an opportunity truly comes your way, be bold enough to go after it.
For me, it's okay to fail, but it's not okay not to try."
I'm serious guys this is just too amazing, the attention and hype joining Singer, the no. 1 singing competition for Mainland China is reallyyyy worth it. No matter what the result is, the amount of hype and discussion, you'll never worry about being obscure!
To those curious, John Legend is next week's challenger!
And I'm happy our HMH aced this round 😭🙌. Such amazingggg talent deserve to be seen and recognized by more people 🤸.
Wandered into the FL territory along with her fans as my fyp showed it to me and since it's right there in my face I might as well check it out lol.
The fans said in the comment section that the boss of the production company of this drama hinted in his livestream that the male lead has a large fanbase. It's open secret on who's the one strongly rumored for the male lead role and I have a guess on why there's no sound on the side of the rumored ML.
