Since you mentioned this, I just heard that It's no longer a xianxia drama, and it also has nothing to do with Taoist priests. It's set in a fictional version of the Great Wei era. The male lead is the head of the Qingxu Sect and a demon hunter. The drama centers on the themes of Chinese supernatural folklore, historical romance, and mystery-solving with character growth. How heavily altered the drama is compared to the novel, idk 🤷.

When I first saw the make up look of Rong Chen Zi, I was blown away ngl. Hengdian really needs him not the other way around. Modern drama scripts had to take a back seat everytime producers see him in costume dramas 😭.
