Could have been so much more
What this series does well is balance two love stories and the central focus. Unlike many other Thai BLs that opt for a multitude of couples this series has only two and explores them well. Visually, this series was amazing to watch and look at. It’s beautiful and well produced.However, this isn’t the best writing in the slightest. This series takes a LONG time to develop the relationship with the main couple and the entire time, the pining is more stalker-like than romantic. Additionally, this series takes too long to do what it sets out to do, and by the time it actually does it, we’ve already reached the end and so everything feels rushed and unearned. As a comedy, it should have ended at episode 11 with a nice wrap-up. But for some reason they decided to make the last episode into a drama filled with tension and the tone shifts into completely new territory with only less than an hour before everything comes to an end. Talk about whiplash!
Furthermore, there is a great support cast, but the writers use these cast members insufficiently to the point that their presence becomes more of a nuisance than part of the actual plot movement. The only character who is developed is Pi and he’s the only well written character, other than Duean. Otherwise, we know virtually nothing about anyone else. Shame.
Also, what’s up with that really weird English song that came up at the weirdest times?

Why R U...Such a Mess???
I really wanted to love this series. I promise you I did.Everything from the casting to the premise was wonderful, but the execution was not it.
What could have been a really great story of love and coming of age, turns into just another university themed BL story where two seemingly opposing figures fall in love although they had no real reason to be antagonistic toward one another, and we're still wondering why one couple is even together at all. If you're into tropes, this series is full of them and is not shy about it either.

WORTH IT.
This is one of those films where when you finish watching, you know you enjoyed a good story. A genuinely sweet tale of love, dreams, saving the world, and fighting for what you love most, this is a great watch for an evening in with friends or by oneself. What I enjoyed the most about this film is its devotion to good writing. In my experience, a lot of films that have to do with superheroes fall flat in their writing, they hype up the action but leave us without any substance; this film is not that.An even balance of romance, comedy, action, and coming of age, this film carries the viewer through to the end. The casting directors did a phenomenal job at putting the right people in the right places. I don't think anyone else could have done it half as well!
This isn't to say that there are no frustrating parts though. Where the majority of the plot is sound, there seems to be some loopholes in regards to Dr. Cube and Sonic, mainly, the timeline. We aren't given the answer, but as supporting characters to our protagonist's growth, it's an inconvenience that doesn't make viewing difficult.

Perhaps the best Thai BL series to have been realased in 2020
What this series does so well is tell a cohesive and satisfying story. With only five episodes, this will appear to be a quick watch, but I assure you that what this series accomplishes in five episodes is a masterpiece of cinematography that we rarely get to see. An awesome cast, a moving score, wonderful writing, and compelling themes, this series follows our protagonists through their fears, hopes, loves, and dreams. A genuinely sweet coming of age story, we find ourselves rooting for everyone as the story unfolds and we cannot help but come of age ourselves.Was this review helpful to you?
Not Worth the Hype.
Another "oops I fell in love with my bestfriend!" series? Yes. But where are the friends?Be warned we spend the first half of this series just watching our main protagonist be heartbroken over his unrequited love, and at the end of this series we are left still asking, "why are they together?" What is most vexing about this series is that there is never any rationale given to us as to why our Third likes Kai so much, or even at all. It's like the series just decided to build the entire first half around why Kai sucks and entirely neglects why we should even root for Kai and Third to be together. Overall, this series feels really forced and the writers have no knack for romance or the development of story.
The MLM couples have zero chemistry all throughout the series, and the only "couple" who had any chemistry whatsoever doesn't get together.
This series is a waste of time.

Um...what?
What started out with a great story and premise falls amazingly flat. We are immediately introduced to what seems to be a wonderful plot of fantasy, realism, intrigue, and action, but somewhere after episode 2 this series decides to turn into the average soapy romance of long stares, slow motion wide angles, and a main lead who can't seem to be convinced that his character is real. In all honesty, I was utterly disappointed with this series because it could not deliver what it promised in the description. Is this a case of bad writing, poor casting, or something else? I'm not even sure.But. What I do know is that the side characters carry this show.

Absolutely a Work of Art
With an all star cast, wonderful writing, and beautiful score, this film takes you to a place of wonder.You can definitely tell that the writing team loved this project, and you can tell the cast really embodied their roles to their best. Although this film has been out for several years now, every time I watch it, it feels like the first time. That's just how good it is.
A genuinely heartwarming story of first love, family, and beginning life after tragedy, this film will make you laugh and cry.

A Good Watch to Pass the Time
The story of this movie is ultimately about a young woman who comes to love herself in world where toxic beauty standards persist at every corner. What I enjoyed about this film is that we don't always like our protagonist, in fact, we even find ourselves frustrated and angry with her although we understand her motivations. As we travel through this messy journey of belonging, love, and acceptance, I think it's fair that we learn a bit about ourselves too and how we want to feel and be perceived as beautiful.Was this review helpful to you?
