There is almost no story and FL is the worst. After the first few episodes it felt like we just got repeated examples of how ML and FL were emotionally damaged and how their childish actions reflected this. Over and over. If you didn’t get this in one episode, don’t worry! You will get reminders through constant flashbacks bookended with frequent scenes of the leads wandering silently, pondering the same scenes and thoughts. Hard to believe this is written by the same person who wrote Spring Day and Piano (except for having similar themes of childhood trauma)
Secretary Go was the best part of the show, sweet, loyal, handsome and drolly dumb
Thought this was really sweet, and at 13 episodes didn't drag; the way it ended really wrapped up all the highlights and touching parts of the series. I love Park Sung Woong so it was interesting to see him play such a sweet, gentle character. Each of the boys had their own charm.
Love the MLs but FLs were very irritating. Mom was very self-pitying and childish, daughter the same. It was as if Mom gave her daughter this crappy upbringing to punish both of them as well as the dad who never knew what happened?
Was glad to see daughter turn around but it really felt like the mom never grew up. I hope the daughter was still pursuing her dreams by the end of the movie (seemed more like she was living her mom’s dream which sickened me on top of the weird “boyfriend doppelgängers” and mom’s slapstick “Oh no, not again” face)
Enjoyed Lee Dong Wook (that hair looks great on him!) but Hyun Young’s character was so childish, selfish, stupid and annoying from beginning to the very end. I might have missed it, but did they ever explain the cause of his phobia?
There’s also zero romance until the credits (implied in dialogue), but that’s fine given how annoying FL was
I don’t understand the negative reviews. You were warned from the beginning this wouldn’t have a happy ending with the situation, ML’s plucky yet shady character, FL’s innocence and talent that’s begging to be manipulated and taken advantage of, SML’s position of power and how he treated his GF. Nothing good could come of this.
I enjoyed the high drama, charming scenes with the chatty factory workers, the repetition of plot points convey to me the hopelessness of trying to fight against class/your history no matter the talent you have. Very old fashioned theme but felt that was the goal so wasn’t disappointed by the ending
