He made it out alive and solved the Empress Dowager burial issue.
On Episode 15. He predicted the flooding disaster in Zhongzhou. He spread this information so villagers will have time to flee the area and therefore save their lives.
There are so much more that Zhinu/Zang Hai did but it is better for the viewers to watch the drama.

Xiao Zhan is a perfectionist. He learn how to train and ride a horse in Legend of Condor Heroes for 3 months. As for this drama, he has to learn how to use the morse code generator for 3 months to show he is an expert.
