It may be either a sad ending or an open ending. A happy ending is unlikely to happen, imo.
Asian drama authors and their logic.they want to kill the audience in the end

Title What Comes after Love Spoiler
Why do I have a feeling that he will bring them together insteadđŸ€”
same here. as much as i am a sucker for HE in romantic dramas, without healing, it's pointless to get back together.

One of the cultural differences between the leads is that many things get lost in translation yet the leads characters also matter. Jungo is an introvert (cultural or personal) but he is not the initiator in the relationship. Every time Hong kisses him or hugs him, he gets surprised. PDA is not really a thing in Japan so that is understandable but Jungo doesn’t talk. He is only thinking his actions matter.
If only he talked about his plans, his differences and his culture, their love would have lasted.

Depends on the letter itself imo. We need to see what Jungo wrote in it and IF the FL is ready to move back towards him. I think the miscommunication is the issue but also the leads don’t know what they want. Jungo takes a step forward only to meet the FL passing by.

Going through the comments and how people think this drama is so miserable, I started to question myself why I…
People just want a fast romantic drama where everything is happy. I think not everyone gets this drama(especially younger audiences) that shows why adults suffer in relationships. I personally had a similar experience in my life and it’s entertaining to see the story unfold

This should be called “What comes after flashback”
Let’s say they didn’t show any flashbacks, how would the audience know what happened? Basically in the future nothing special is happening, as both leads are struggling badly in the present scenes (see their teary eyes) making wrong choices but what is important is how their love fell apart.

Unpopular opinion but the flashbacks are equally as important as the present time. It's slow and depressing on…
Good point! I am seeing people nagging in the comments about the flashbacks but I also think without the flashbacks the story wouldn’t make sense. We need to see what happened before that broke them up because it wasn’t simply an overnight matter

This is painfully slow for a 6-episode show. At this point, I don't think they will get back together. It's either…
it will be an open ending if it follows the novel

Title What Comes after Love Spoiler
Maybe they will start talking directly or something but with Hong’s recent action, them getting back together…
as much as i hate to admit, i have lost hope for a happy ending. that's the truth in such angsty melodramas

Those who have seen the movie “ the notebook” can you see the many similarities? Even the parents were the same! Yet one single encounter made them go back together and they lived happily ever after. Wish we could see the same in WCAL as well

Do you think the letter's content will bring them back together, or they'll end up for good? đŸ€”I would love…
Maybe they will start talking directly or something but with Hong’s recent action, them getting back together doesn’t seem to be happening

Yeah but this is a drama we are talking about. They have a history of wrapping up dramas badly. As much as I love a happy ending, the director/writer/etc probably want to go extra and make is dramatically emotional leaving the audience with so many questions.

Today’s episode kinda showed the audience that a happy ending is highly unlikely. It’s painful yes but if a happy ending was possible, how would it have been? Like what should’ve happened for them to end up together?

This episode merely focused on Jungo’s efforts to open a way, but Hong’s side of the story and what she wants is still unclear. Jungo wants her back(despite all that has happened), but what about Hong? She clearly has not moved on but is the love she had for Jungo still there? It’s more like she is pain. A pain she could not heal

How?
I know but it’s kinda pointless for them to just end the series like that. No closure no healing no nothing? I mean, the title says what comes AFTER love so there should be something after it.
