They are definitely not in a relationship. And they are not cuddling every night - they moved to separate rooms.…
@jpny01 I hate these kind of comments. You make it sound like your opinion is a fact and that you need to explain it to me... why? I was simply expressing a less negative point of view that you very clearly don't agree with. That's fair. But I find your comment kind of unnessesary and condescending even if that was not your intention. I expressed my understanding that other people are disappointed and your comment didn't contribute anything I didn't already know from 100 other comments.
I'm sorry that so many people are disappointed with this series. While I agree it went downhill after episode 9, I'm still enjoying it a lot. The longer the wait, the more satisfying it will be when they finally get together (unless they manage to really screw that part up somehow).
Also, as for what a lot of people are complaining about - I think what we have seen so far or at least for a long time now literally IS them being in a relationship. They just didn't put a label on it or make it official even to themselves yet. They literally spend all day together at work, then go home together. Care for each other when they're sick, buy each other's favourite beverages, etc. They end up cuddling each other every night for god's sake. What I'm trying to say is that what we've seen probably isn't so different from what they would be like as a couple. So I don't share the same frustration as everyone else even though I understand it. Obviously I'd like the show to go on and see their relationship develop. But my personal favourite part of a story is the getting together... The pining, the misunderstandings, the jealousy, the learning to communicate, feelings growing, etc. Often I find it more boring once the relationship is super established but that's probably just me. Anyway, I guess I'm really the target audience for a show like this lol.
How did you watch it? i didn't think it had even aired yet. This makes me very frustrated though they are having…
@aprilnwright I can send you the link if you want.
Based on some scenes we're still missing (like a flashback of Yu Zhen and his ex) and some scenes from the preview for episode 12 I think, sadly, they won't get together until the very end. But I hope I'm wrong. I'm comforted by the fact that we've already seen a lot of the things they would do as boyfriends. I mean, I've never seen someone who isn't dating acting THAT much like they're dating... So in that way I don't think we're missing out on too much. But yeah, I understand your frustration.
Soooo I watched episode 11. Please don't read any further if you don't want to be spoiled.
Am writing this in case anyone wants to adjust their expectations before watching:
Shi Lei and Yu Zhen have like... 2 short scenes alone together lol. And one of them is the one that was already released as a preview. So yeah they're still not on speaking terms by the end of the episode.
THAT being said, I don't think the episode is horrible. Being as vague as possible... Sure, the ex takes up too much time in the spotlight but that was sort of to be expected. One thing I like is that there's never any doubt about Yu Zhen's feelings for Shi Lei. The ex is annoying but he's not a real threat. The real threat is their lack of communication... which I think will probably be resolved in one of the last scenes of the final episode... Oh well. It will still be nice to see.
That new spoiler pic on insta... So even at the picnic they can't be free of the ex. I kind of suspected that scene would take place after the reconciliation but guess I was wrong. I gotta say I'm a little pressed by the prospect of the ex possibly taking up way too much time in the next episode... Personally I have no issues with the pacing, it actually can't get slow enough for me lol. It's all about the pining. And I can even accept a good old antagonist - but just don't drag that part out too long, I'm begging.
I thought the same!! they have amazing chemistry and I love to see their interactions! Even with just one single…
@Song-yi Omg thanks for this. I will try to keep my expectations down even if it's difficult. Yeah the way I interpret their interactions is that there's no way they don't like each other as more than friends... But then again I've been disappointed in the past when it turned out to be either just a friendship or a story about one-sided love where the friend goes on a "journey" to accept the other one's feelings and remain friends. which is.... not what I would like to see.
The chemistry between Sol and Ji Wan is off the charts, I really hope they become a thing. Does anyone have any info if that's the direction we're going?
Right? I was cringing so hard in the first couple of episodes that I nearly dropped the show because of the sound…
They definitely went overboard with sounds and even the music sometimes. Maybe I just imagined it had gotten better or maybe it's because I'm more into the show now than in the beginning so I simply don't notice it as much.
all I want is to kill the sound engineer or whoever was responsible for the sound effects and music. It's ruining…
Right? I was cringing so hard in the first couple of episodes that I nearly dropped the show because of the sound effects alone. But I do feel like it's gotten a lot better in the latter part though..
The rule is so weird right. I don't know if it's there as a hint to viewers not to take this show seriously, or…
@genie234 Nicely put, I think this is exactly it. It's meant to be representative of his trauma and that's why he can't let go of it even if continues to make less and less sense.
lol yeah not only is it probably illegal but I also don't know anyone who would ever accept working under such conditions
Can you stop using ''uke'' and ''seme''. It isnt even confirmed. Also just say their names, weird as heck.
Yes, that's the worst. Those kind of discussions are so awkward and out of place ESPECIALLY when it's done by women. Imagine a guy being passionate about assigning sexual positions to two women even if it's a fictional pairing. That's just weird. Those doing it should at least admit they're fetishizing and not pretend they're discussing character dynamics.

Yeah and after episode 9 it makes even less sense than before. Like... Now he knows people are breaking the rule AND that they know about each other breaking the rule. And he's like fine but let's just all pretend we're following the rule ok? Like is he just using the rule as an excuse to not date Shi Lei because of his bad experiences? But then he kind of dates him anyway, lets be real? lol I guess I'll enjoy it more if I accept it doesn't need to make much sense.
Don’t you hate it when you make a super awkward rule that everybody is breaking behind your back and you find out about it but you still refuse to remove the rule and pretend it’s being respected even though you’re kind of also breaking it yourself and is in very deep denial about it. Hate it when that happens lol
I have to say I kind of adore this show. It certainly doesn't make a lot of sense plotwise but it's super cute and it really caters to my love of slow burns. It takes me almost an hour to watch each episode because I want to replay almost every scene a couple of times.

I have to agree... The "uke/seme" terminology makes my skin crawl. I've always found it kind of homophobic cause it displays this desperate need to assign extremely stereotypical roles for people in same sex relationships. It belongs in manga/anime and certainly not in relation to real human characters portrayed by real human actors (and even with manga it should be considered outdated). Just my opinion btw, didn't mean to sound rude.
Wait so it might get postponed again on July 11th?
Well apparently they have scheduled another program to air for the next three weeks. So based on that I assumed ep 11 might air after that... but there hasn't been an official date announcement yet. It also seems like they haven't even started filming ep 12 yet but I could be wrong!
