There's some tweets saying DK was a last minute replacement for qm and that the white hair was his idea? Havent double checked it but it was a good call. π
(I might need to rewatch butterflied lovers, because he was so sweet to his wife there π)
I think part of syq's charm (???) is that though he's a psychotic little sh*t, he genuinely loves his family. Part of him is familiar to us. He's a carefree unapologetic brat, he does what he wants and eff anyone who stops him. In another world, it would be fun if he grew up with xz as his role model and his older brother.
As for qm, his attractiveness is different.. very pretty and mysterious. It's that dark romance where his romantic interest is the only exception. He is pitiful for what happened to him. But he's already too twisted. It's harder for me to relate to him.
I was hoping for that cause I love angst but novel XZ is different from drama XZ. Here, he is more calm and he…
I also preferred the novel. But you're right, if they couldve shown him going through the emotions and thought process, i would be able to accept the drama version more. I think that's what's really missing.
Let me say this with my whole chest β Xie Zheng's storyline has Epic Lead DNA and they have him playing emotional…
I really like that they toned him down a bit in the drama. He's very sweet not just to fcy but also with chang niang and uncle and auntie zhao. I felt that he was really happy and contect there in xigu lane.
But yes i was also expecting once he goes back to his role, more of his epicness. But i just seem him riding his horse, pretty but i wanna see a fight and how bad ass he can be. I am still hoping for at least one more epic fight scene for him before the drama ends.
I also preferred if they kept the break up because of her past. Novel fcy also seems more aware of her responsibility as being the leader or captain.

Anyway, just rambling. π

Anyway, drama is not over yet, so let's see.
It was a bit different in the novel.
Actor really did a good job.
I think he's legit busy. He does have an army to run, rebels to hunt, old feuds to investigate.
