this is great as a comedy, though the humor is definitely over the top. haruta is easily the star of the show. his actor has great comedic timing and physicality. the romance aspect is a bit underdeveloped but that wasnt surprising. overall very entertaining
youve heard of dead fish kisses, now get ready for dead fish blowjobs... seriously why even include those scenes if youre not gonna commit lol.
but anyway this was pretty interesting. i liked the main couple's dynamic and all the characters were really well cast. also nice soundtrack. my only real gripe is that so much of the already short runtime is flashbacks/backstory and i wish a bit more time was spent developing their relationship. we learn a lot about odajima and his motivations, but all we know about kataoka is that hes just such a cool awesome guy and everyone loves him. but i guess thatll be explored in s2
Very intriguing and quite good. I'm just a bit uncomfortable with those pictures he took. I mean what happened…
yeah im a bit confused by zhen xin's characterization because on one hand theyre showing how he really cares for zhang zhun and is always looking after him but also he's a huge sex pest lol
usually not a fan of stories where they fall so deeply in love so quickly but here i guess it makes sense because of the red string of fate/reincarnation angle. main pairing was cute enough, though i didnt feel as attached to their past selves or any of the other couples for that matter. the story felt like more of a slice of life with occasional melodrama. also pacing is a bit too slow. honestly 17 episodes was way too much. by the halfway point things start to feel repetitive as it's like every other scene is pharm/dean tearfully remembering their past lives and redeclaring their love for each other. also the the whole bloodlines subplot was a bit weird. still overall the acting feels natural and i enjoyed the funny little moments day to day like how much the friends tease each other, also some really touching emotional beats
this was one of those series id avoided because i was so sure id dislike it... well it turns out not only was it not what i was expecting at all, its actually pretty good. porsche is an immediately likeable character and i think it's worth watching for him alone. the series was at its best when it was essentially a wacky comedy about porsche going to bodyguard school. honestly i think the mafia business is the weakest part of the story, but it serves its purposes of setting up action setpieces for the characters to look badass.
as for the characters, kinnporsche have a terrible start but i was eventually won over by their chemistry (ep 6 is when i was fully on board). i wish i could see what so many people see in vegaspete and kimchay, but we're given so little to work with that i could never really latch onto them. vegaspete's entire arc is condensed into like 2 episodes and kimchay's is straight up unresolved.
overall while i definitely enjoyed this far more than expected, it felt like there were too many competing elements for a satisfying and cohesive story
really strong start. besides the random use of genai in the opening the production quality seems really high. very solid performances from all the actors even the side characters. i also really loved the buildup of (sexual) tension between them. i was really looking forward to this so im happy to see it seems like it's gonna be a good one.
im really glad i got to catch this as it was airing. those cliffhangers! even with a short runtime there was a lot of intrigue suspense, but i think it couldve been really great if only there was a bit more time to develop the characters. still im going to miss yido and taejeong aka dumb and dumber
really liking this so far. admittedly at first i felt a bit lost with all the characters introduced but after ep 5 im understanding their dynamics now. leads have good chemistry as well. also as expected from the director of Litchi Island the cinematography is great. i especially love the scenes of them in nature
these episodes were fun but why is everyone so bad at their jobs hahaha i cant stop laughing thinking about the boss sending two different killers after one guy only for both of them to fail. atp instead of trying to kill donghwa id be trying to hire him since hes apparently the only one that can get anything done
this was a cute and simple one. not the most gripping plot but the actors sell their roles well and have good chemistry. it may not be your thing if you dislike the born sexy yesterday trope but i thought it was pretty tactfully done as theyre not intimate until theyre in an established relationship and heng jiu initiates it first.
also i recommend watching Stay By My Side before this to get the most out of the cameos in ep 6 and the special episode
reporting back for anyone who was curious about peanut butter with eggs after one scene and it was not bad? i didnt have it in me to slather it on like ido did but i suppose it's a good alternative if youre trying to bulk lol
this was cute. covid-era productions are such interesting little artifacts. it's impressive that they were able to tell a compelling story confined to one single location. i didnt love how the primary conflict was resolved, but at least the characters were convincing in their reasonings.
maybe its stockholm syndrome but i actually enjoyed this despite how much i disliked s1. they definitely toned down the ickier elements which allowed tharntype's chemistry to shine. besides the obligatory jealousy arcs that were as eyeroll inducing as always, i thought the ups and downs of their relationship felt pretty realistic. idk why people think being together 7 years would automatically make for a healthy relationship, if anything that just means you had more time to fight and argue lol. all the toxicity and immaturity aside i cant help but feel touched by how much they love each other.
also the side cast was far more entertaining this time around (though the sheer number of couples was a little ridiculous) albeit a little underdeveloped. even with all the crying i couldnt be mad at fiat hes just like a bad little kid lol. the other two couples werent terribly interesting but at least cute to watch. overall i had fun.
1. soooo why did the killer invite Taejeong back into his house knowing fully well how dangerous it is? if it’s…
we'd definitely have to see once more of his backstory is revealed but it seems like seo ido isnt really cut out for/doesnt like being a killer, at least compared to his boss and that scary dude in the car flashback. i think because taejeong is innocent in his eyes he couldnt bring himself to kill him even though he had so many chances. also ofcourse because it's bl he's starting to fall for him which complicates things even further
and given how rude to him he is id be surprised if taejeong didnt dislike the other cop at least a little bit lol
1. soooo why did the killer invite Taejeong back into his house knowing fully well how dangerous it is? if it’s…
these are mostly just my personal thoughts/speculation but 1. to be fair he did try to get taejeong to stay away (hence the fake message from dong hwa) but that didnt work. and forcing taejeong out of the house at that moment would only make him more suspicious 2. as far as taejeong knows the worst thing ido has done is potentially b&e and lie about being dongjin. he doesnt know about the killer thing (yet) so on top of his feelings for him i dont think its unreasonable that hed at least want to investigate more before deciding to turn ido in. also after his conversation with the cop friend it seems like he's a bit of a black sheep and is used to acting alone 3. this was a bit silly lol ido doesnt seem to be very good at his job

-1. Mr. Unlucky Has No Choice but to Kiss! (★8)
Really funny and with a unique premise. Fake dating with super sweet and caring ML.
