This started off quite well but then devolved into the stupidest thing ever full of contrived bullshit situations with characters making nonsensical decisions. Hate-watched the last half at 2x and it got worse as it kept going. 4/10
I loved this so much. It was so funny and heartwarming. Short and sweet too.All of the main characters were so…
When her mom slapped her and she slapped her back I almost leapt out of my chair to cheer her on. I wish she had have slapped her co-worker that snatched Yoshida's phone and was swiping through her photos. Who tf does that?!
I loved this so much. It was so funny and heartwarming. Short and sweet too. All of the main characters were so good. Kitashiro was my favourite. I hated the nosey co-worker and her manipulative, controlling mom! The idea of being embarassed about your hobbies was so relatable. I'm glad it's a bit more acceptable to be a 'nerd' these days. The incoporation of the tokusatsu characters and themes was so good. It made me want to watch some Super Sentai. 8.5/10
If you can ignore the groomer subtext, this is so dumb in the best way. The characters and songs are really funny. Itagaki Rihito did not come across as straight though lol I was shocked when his crush at school turned out to be a girl.
You know when you hate something and find out it was just a bad adaptation? I was disappointed that this was an original and that there was no good version of it that I could experience instead. It was an interesting concept dragged down by terrible acting and worse writing. I really wanted to like it but I found missing hate-watching it by the end.
The story starts off interesting and then loses its way almost immediately. There are too many side plots for 8 episodes and the pacing is really bad. I was hate-watching it by the end.
The ML and his best friend were pathetic and annoying. Their actors were really bad and over-the-top. The FL was the only redeeming character. Yoshikawa Ai carried the show even though she was abandoned halfway through.
Other positives were the decent SFX and the surprisingly good fight scenes.
He must have learned a lot in the seven years between making this and The Handmaiden.Nothing really happens and…
How tf did he become a vampire in the first place? A random bag of blood at the disease clinic? How did that get there? Who donated it? How? Why?
I didn't like that the r*pist got away with it in the sense that it was never acknowledged afterwards. No one else ever found out about it and he just died later on in the general carnage. What was the point of the r*pe then? Just to show that she was so fatigued that she could be taken advantage of?
He must have learned a lot in the seven years between making this and The Handmaiden.
Nothing really happens and the FL's motivation seems to shift without reason. It doesn't really do anything for the genre either. I give it 6.5/10 for the fact that I sat through all 2+ hours without getting too restless. More under spoiler.
Sooo slooow. It might have been okay if I was emotionally invested enough to care about the character's innocence but he had no redeeming qualities. The lead actress did a good job though. The weakest BJH (Korean) film for me. 6/10
I'll never understand police that do anything to get false confessions or frame innocent people. Don't they actually want to catch the real criminal? Won't they just look like idiots when the real killer strikes again?
Okay that's the social commentary out of the way. Regarding the film - wouldn't the police already know that their country didn't have the technology to do DNA testing? I thought it was silly that the forensics tech had to explain that to them. That's my only nitpick. 8/10
The voiceover at the end of her explaining who the terrorist guys are was unnecessary and kind of ruined it. I feel like it was added after a stupid test audience didn't get it. The rest of the movie was pretty disjointed and left it up to the audience to follow along; why insult our intelligence at the very end?
The whole premise is a bit silly and it seemed like they couldn't decide whether the main character was strong…
She beats the villain easily in their first encounter and then the rest of the fights are her getting the shit kicked out of her until halfway through the last fight she suddenly turns the tide because of her feelings or something ...? There's also no explanation for why the bully fights like a pro in the first place when all he usually does is beat up weak guys and girls at school. Also who enters a boxing ring and fights in full track suits? They'd pass out from heat stress in two minutes lol
The whole premise is a bit silly and it seemed like they couldn't decide whether the main character was strong or weak. It was still a fun enough watch and it was good to see SHS and Cha Chung Hwa back together. 6.5/10
Dropped at around 1/3 of the runtime and the only interesting character up to that point was Park Hye Soo's. The English-speaking actors were too cringe for me to sit through even at 2x. Maybe it's easier to watch for non-native English speakers. Even if someone could put up with the English scenes it still seems like it would be a 6/10 at best.
