In my opinion, some took it to the extreme.

There is a deleted scene of him with some unsent text messages but in the Hong Kong arc, they included a scene I believe replaced that. I feel they wanted to create space in time and for her to be on her own to grow in college. I don't want to say more as I know you haven't watched it.

I know what you mean. Sometimes I find myself shocked after watching an episode then going into the forums to find the wonderful significant parts that impressed me are not even mentioned, and the parts I didn't even find significant are the topic of disappointments. People might not like what was done, but there are reasons I imagine were the purpose of the screenwriter and director. One thing I do not like is when they take an HE from a novel and turn it into an open ending!

I was so disappointed Yan died. His baby was on her way. I wish they would stop do this in dramas.

Me too! The scene with He Yan riding in on her white horse with her cloak flying behind her....💗 I am going to watch that part again later. This is going on my rewatch list. I don't understand the complaints and low reviews. I got some real joy watching this.

I am not a screenwriter so usually I skip the critiques on production as I don't understand it. I just know what I enjoy and how the drama's format worked for me. I enjoyed LOTFG. It kept me stuck to my screen. I am sad it is over but I need to get some errands done 😭 This will go on my rewatch list.

I scrolled through as I was watching but I divert my eyes when i see some spoilers, I don't read everything.

I wish they had saved Yan He. I don't feel his death was necessary. Maybe they could have had him on the brink of death enough for He Yan to make CZ feel remorse.
