It is there in that the leads work together and live in the same house (different apartment) and even got a puppy together. It becomes clear early on that ML is falling for her. Yes, there is romance but not the main focus. But it is there is many little ways until they finally confess to each other.

It is funny you should say Wang Fa's father could be Wanxing's second father. I imagined her saying "dad" to him and her father looking shocked when he realizes she doesn't need him. They were awful to keep her from her grandfather. No redemption for them.

I just paused to say how much I am loving episode 25. Wang Fa's father is unlike any rich ML's father I have ever seen. I don't blame Wanxing's parents for not recognizing a high-powered rich man at first 😂

The reason Cen Ye doesn’t feel like an ex boyfriend is because dated but nothing serious. They tried dating but nothing came of it. I don’t know if the drama will clarify it but I don’t know if any Chinese drama that had leads with previous intimate relationships. Censorship will not allow it.

ML is not evil. He did a job that was clean to give her the money but by doing so, one thing led to another and he was afraid Jing would be targeted. Try it.

The episode where he rescued her made it quite clear that as always, he puts her safety first.When Jing got upset that he could have drowned trying to save her and he was angry that she got into this situation trying to help her friend, it was clear these two love each other. My only issue with Jing is when she acts too sure of herself and takes risks that could cause Chen Yi problems because he will do anything to save her. Cen Ye doesn’t bother me so much. At first I had him marked as friendly and working on their side to take down Zhang but who knows if he has something else going on. Jing seems to trust him so I think they are good friends.

I don’t downrate dramas just because I don’t like something about a character. I had enough of the audit and glad they finished it, but that will not drop my rating. Zhang Bin gives me anxiety just to see him so I don’t enjoy the drama when he is not n screen. SWL’s performance has been amazing. I can feel Chen Yi just by his eyes.

The ML loves the FL and her safety and happiness is his bottom line. He did something for her so she could go away to college and be safe. But what he did led him to a dark place in his life. That is in the past and the present is dealing with the past and working on justice. He is not toxic.

It is 8.4 now. Was it at 8.5? I don’t remember. It will go up if the ending is satisfying.

It was so hard to move on from Speed and Love. It is too bad you didn’t watch it. Maybe after this you will feel more inclined. You might not like her in Ski Into Love because she played a really bubbly FL but I loved her in that too. I even watched it several times!

You are assuming they kept her relationships the same. The fact that she dated 2 guys doesn’t mean it was the same as in the book. Chinese romance dramas are censored so the novel had to be changed to meet requirements.

He is in Amidst a Snowstorm of Love but not as the ML. I watched Hello, Mr. Gu a long time ago. I liked it then but that was before seeing my now favorite dramas..

I don't think they had a serious relationship. It seems it was more of a dating friendship that didn't last because she couldn't take it further.
