They will use flashbacks to connect the dots. Remember the police guy, Zhou? We guessed something happened to his wife (not sure if they actually married) but it wasn't until several episodes later that we saw him visit her memorial. It is the style of the drama. I am sure we have it all put together by the end of the drama. The audit is not fun to watch but hopefully it will get where it needs to.

It is not that it went down. It is spending some time on the audit and some don't understand what is going on so it makes it meaningless. There is an explanation down below that helps. And as much as I am tired of the audit, it is necessary to the story.
