You were right on target when you said you rather judge the drama than the novel. I was informed about one part of the novel that made me stay away from it. The cleaned up version is my preference and I am so glad Tu Li is a fake girlfriend in the drama. Jing dated Cen but it didn’t go much further. Now if Chinese censorship could require that no lead in a romance drama can die, it would be perfect…for me. Everyone has preferences . No judgement necessary.

People will probably call me unrealistic for thinking Jing did not have a full intimate relationship with any of her ex boyfriends. I am sure China has a requirement for romance dramas that even if the FL or the ML has an ex for the sake of the plot, it must not be intimate. I could be wrong but that seems to be the pattern for the leads not necessarily secondary characters.

That is the sense I got especially when Cen smiles at Chen Yi's jealousy. He looked like he was having fun blurting out the two guys that Jing dated. Her 2 dating relationships were not on an intimate level.
Thats a good point but wouldn't you agree, There isn't a need to confess. Their love isn't something that needs…
The drama seems to like to cut us off at some crucial points but I am sure they will do a flashback at some point. The scene where Chen Yi walked into the auditing room could not have been a full surprise for Jing.
every time i get to the part of an ep about chen yi and miao jing’s job, i genuinely get so bored😭, especially…
Same! And I don't care enough to back it up and watch again. I just know the goal and guessing Jing and Cen knows what he is doing and they are working together.
Chen Yi is an incredible male lead, and I don’t think many viewers would disagree with that. Where I see things…
As always, well said! It took me all day to finally watch ep 19 and the comments here made me think things were revealed that I found unbelievable based on what I have seen in the drama. The fact that Chinese romance dramas are heavily censored, leads me to believe Jing's 2 failed relationships are there to show that she could not move on from Chen Yi and I doubt they were deeply intimate relationships. Two failed relationships that were described as "dating" shows what is established early on in the drama that Chen Yi is Jing's first and only love. It is that same censorship that made Tu Li Chen Yi's fake boyfriend.
I wonder if that was an act for the sake of the staff. He doesn't seem that way otherwise. He usually appears…
What I am saying is that they might be secretly working together and wiping his hand was supposed to make the people in the office think he doesn't like Chen Yi. It is just a perception.
This is getting boring now for me😭it was good in the beginning tension between main leads but now I don't think…
The whole audit story line is dragging for me but I admit I don't understand it all. I will need to rewatch. The drama doesn't reveal all. I keep wondering if I missed something😂. From Jing's question to Chen Yi if her was there as her boyfriend or work, I gather she considers themself together. I also get the feeling Chen Yi, Jing and Cen are working together secretly.
