I am conflicted with that scene because the emotions were so beautifully done. My heart 💔 just thinking about it. L&P deserves a much higher rating. I also skip the second couple on rewatch now as I already know their purpose. Old Gao made me so mad and he is lucky that the ML has a kind heart even if some viewers called him toxic.

It was a bit confusing to watch the first episode because of the back and forth between present and past, but on rewatch it was so much more meaningful. The last time I rewatched I skipped the prison scene. It is such a painfully emotional scene. I get anxious when I know it is coming up. There were some negative comments about the ML being toxic but I didn't find him so at all. I could see he had a kind heart and the way he treated the FL made it obvious she was special to him.
