I'm the mindless watch kind of person but still can't with that script. They had a 5 star cast but the writing…
I watched FOMH and went deep into it. I even liked the brother so many disliked because I could understand his feelings for the FL and what they shared growing up with the controlling mother. I watched HL which some might feel was all light but I found it had emotional depth and I could see the contrast in the ML's childhood to to the FL's and how she helped him.
But I can also watch OFL and simply enjoy it. It is true that there is a lack of depth but it was enjoyable. And okay. I admit. Dylan Wang dressed in black leaning against his shiny black car waiting for the Fl was sweet to watch. LOL. It was also something to see this "cold" CEO cooking in the kitchen and being a much better cook than the FL. It was also great to see the interaction even if it was just the looks they gave each other. Sometimes it was just a quirk of the Ml's eyebrows. The FL was an accomplished finance reporter and quite smart. And she was pretty and attractive, but not too smart with her personal life, and relied on the advice of her best friend who was not too smart in the relationship area either. I can see what you are saying and totally respect that. But in between all the different couples and all the different scenes are these little things each character did that made me like them. There were little things that made me smile or laugh. Therefore, it was enjoyable and okay if it lacked depth. If there is one complaint it was that the cheating ex-boyfriend was terrible casting. I know he was supposed to be a handsome guy she met in college but he didn't look it. Who is going to believe he once had two women to choose from? His personality was weak and totally lacking. But the good thing is that he played a minor role.
Next watch for me is Story of Kunning Palace thanks to your recommendation. I will let you know how it goes!
Ou last 3 episodes is so sweet. 😍🥰💋The rating became so low. So sad. In my opinion only the middle part…
I feel the same. But I will admit watching Dylan Wang made me quite happy. I wish more dramas will have longer endings and not just end as soon as the couple get together.
I enjoyed OFL and I absolutely loved Hidden Love. The first time I heard of AvenueX was when HL came out and she blew the age difference out of proportion. The show was not about grooming young children. She is ridiculous. I never watch her. That was my first and last time going to her youtube page to see what she said. After that, never again.
She is good friend and rather sweet to the FL. She just gives bad advice.
Do you think maybe she didn't trust herself to love Guan Ji because he was a playboy? I wonder if her own insecurities made her give Shu Yi bad advice.
What was the point of FLs brothers plot? I thought he would have redeemed himself with the bartender but wtf what…
I think he felt she might have changed or realized she was wrong. I don’t think he had feelings for her. He might have wanted to help her earlier because she reminded him of the FL or he felt sorry for her. But after what she did to him, I cannot see him being attracted to her in a romantic way.

She told Shan Shan she wanted to tell him but Shan Shan talked her out of it. I am curious to know what made Shan Shan so wary. I wonder if it is in the book.
Many of us felt it should have been part of the ending. But it was better than nothing. The cast was beautiful. I actually liked the niece. She started out frivolous but she ended up wanting to learn from Shu Yi and became her biggest supporter. I almost fast-forwarded to ep 30 but watched all the episodes and there were some sweet scenes. And of course some of the later episodes were great once the couple got back together. If you are still watching SOKP, I will see you there! I didn’t trust it not to have happened one of those open endings that seem to be the trend this year, so I waited to start.
If you have any suggestions for what to watch next let me kbow
I loved the FL in Rising With the Wind! And I loved the ML even though he got a lot of hate. Some of it was blown out of proportion. Also, you should look for the cut kiss scenes if you watch it. I don’t think I will continue with WOL. I love Xu Kai though! I will be watching Story of Kunning Palace. From accounts it has a happy and satisfying ending!

I totally agree. I felt he was used to protecting the FL , but once Song Yan pointed out her depression and he started to think Song Yan was best for her even if the mother objected. And we could see the brother helping her against the mother.
Well I got a lot of hate for saying I enjoyed the show LOL
Well, they seem to have left this thread recently. I had a great time on the Bright Eyes in the Dark discussion page. I think it is because the ones who didn't like it left at the beginning because it started out with a lot of propaganda type scenes before going into the relationship. The ones who were left watching were really great. Unfortunately, we didn't get the ending we anticipated. But on the otherhand, many of us still left a high rating because we loved the show.
