Thanks for the explanation. I'll skip. Like we discussed before, I am already pissed when I occasionally see r*pe attempt in a drama. I cannot imagine watching a drama filled with s*x offense.
This is also one of the reasons why I don't watch BL dramas. I read an article analyzing the genre. And it seems that, the r*pe scenes are very common in every BL Drama.
I must also say that I have never watch any, so I cannot judge from my own experience.

There is also this concept of marquing the partner.

I like this actress very much and I agree it is hit or miss with her. But I never put the blame on the actors for a bad drama, because, as you know, actors do what directors tell them to do. So, she should probably pay attention to the material and project she chooses. Because, there is this very simplistic drama in which I like her performance very much and this is not a extraordinary high budget drama, but the story is very endearing to me and I already watched it 3 times.

It is not perfect but the story of this ruthless ML who doesn't know what feelings are, because he was born as a killing tool, and who learns what love is. I just love it.
I liked the actress performance in this one. So, she is clearly capable.
As for this remake of "Kill me love me". I only watched 7 minutes of it and I rushed on MDL, where I found your comment because I scensed that something was weird with this plot

Because of Xue FangFei's long hair in the last scene.
Early in the drama, Xue FangFei made the promise that she will stop wearing the "married woman" hair bun and welcome Duke Su with released hair when he returns from the battlefield.
Her hair were indeed long and flaunting in the wind.
This a clue that makes us see that, this is not a dream last scene but a real scene of Duke Su's return.
This is why we got this special episode narrating their married life.

The worst is FL who looks like ml's mother and he falls for her. That's too weird.

Thanks for the review. I started one episode and couldn't understand why the charecters were weird and how the little girl could recognize someone's scent while being hidden in a wooden barrel.
That was weird.
Not to mention the unique fight in all the season. That's too weird.

I personnally liked the drama, I liked the mystery. There are a lot of deaths but one after another but those are like bread crumble that lead the story to unravel the next main vilain .
So those are not unnecessary. The drama works like russian dolls : we see villains popping one after another.
You should like it .

Tan Tai Jin : Of course he experienced feelings for the first time during the dream, and will grow love threads after. Which defers from Ming Ye.
He was maybe more hesitant that Ming Ye (not fully understanding his feelings), to speak to his beloved. Because he was discovering love, whereas Ming Ye was maybe more duty focused, yet similarily head-over-heels for San Jui.

=> In bo're life TTJ learns that he can choose his own destiny ( not being ADJ's shell or fetus), like Ming Ye was choosing (one eye red and one eye blu).

Li Su Su : She would have behaved more egoistically like Ye Chi Wu use to behave in the past. She would have behave less friendly with the palace maids and the palace attendants. The course of events being the same, she would have gave her devine essence to apease MoHe River but maybe not with such a selfless love like Li Su Su did. Because Ye Chi Wu is a spoiled brat and psychopath. The devine essence would have ended up in the same place but after maybe someone's coertion.

=> In bo're life Li Su Su as San Jiu enticed Ming Ye to stay in the God path because San Jui loved him beeing the God of War. The same way, after the bo're life Su Su sees Tan Tai Jin for who he is and she will help him tag the immortal path.



Xiao lin : He is so righteous and chivalrous. in bo're life he get's angry at Ming Ye for not consumating his marriage with San Jui (or doing dual cultivation) because Ming Ye doesn't "respect" his wife and Xiao Lin is ready to travel to the Immortal real to have harsh words with Ming Ye.
This is Indeed how Xiac Lin is in reality : Restecting rule and conventions for the greater good even to the point of self-sacraficing himself.

=> In bo're life he get's killed by Tuan Huan (Bitchang). This is a forshadowing because after that he gets physically seperated from bitchang (becoming a outlaw and he gets betrayed by her.


Ye "Bitchang" Binchan : We all knew from the start that Bitchang was not a good girl. She was portraying the good girl on the surface but she had a deep jealousy of the attention and upper mobility her little sister was able to access easily, whereas being a concubine's daughter, she could only be a concubine.
So in bo're life, Tuan Huan playing the good and benevolent girl while torturing San Jiu, this strikes me as Ye binchan Serving porridge to the poor commoners then using her maid servant to shield herself from a dagger and ending up killing her… then leave the premises like Nothing happened.

=> In bo're life she gets obssessive over Ming Ye and ends up dead after comitting several evil deeds. This is a forshadowing and a cathalyst for her character because she becomes more and more evil after bo're life. She ends up comitting murders and treason like the flying serpent godess did in the dream. She clearly chose to be selfish and she did not bother to pretend to be pure like a white lotus anymore, as she did in the begining of the show.

After several rewatch of TTOTM. A new aspect of the drama strikes me today , as I was finishing the
Ming Ye vs San Jui arc in the bo're life :

I always thought that Tan Tai Jin, Li Su Su, Ye "bitchang" and Xiao Lin were played like puppets, forced to re-enact Ming Ye and San Jui's tragic romance as it took place in the past.

But now, I understand that Xiao Lin was able to analyse Ye Chi Wu's personality during the course of the events, and find discrepancies.
So it means, that everyone of the characters could impact the "Original Owners" behaviors in the bo're life.

The bo're is a cathalist for every character in their own way.

I use to think that The bo're life was only important for Tan Tai Jin, but after today I hav a new look upon it.

Such a great drama, there is Always Something at every rewatch.

How : Spoiler below.

Good villains are scarce in J-dramas, from what I saw. They are most of the time a big caricature full of tropes. This actress plays more or less the same role in every drama I see her : a weak tsundere.
the story was simplistic. It could have been more complex.

LOL. Yes she was behaving very weirdly.
Her way of hiding herself was oddly funny and a little pathetic.
It saddened me in the begining, especially because ML was insulting her all the time and she kept entertaining that insulting jerk in the begining. Really ??
I pitied FL a lot.

I watched the drama because FL was very cute and endearing with her shaggy red hair and her freckels. I liked her a lot. Everything bad could happen to her, yet she was always kepping a positive mindset.
I liked that.

But I disliked ML's bullying in the begining.
And I have Second Male Lead syndrome because of this drama.
SML was so cute and worthy of FL's love. (*___*)

A happy ending with them would have been great.

Yes, ML can hear FL's thoughts and see through her fake facade. Sometimes it is funny.

Yes , this should be like retibution.
Logically in dramaland the Empress should have ended up killed, considering the blood she got on her ends for killing so many palace maids. Yet, she evolves in a good way, letting go of her obssession for ML.
It is sad, that she suffered a lot but she had to face pain and even death, because she killed so much people.

I don't know how she could have escaped an horrible fate... Maybe risking her life to save someone. That way : a life for a life, she could become redeemable in dramaland and "earn" a better ending.

I understand your point of view. In this drama, FL seems to be strong and coerced by the domineering ML but in reality she is not really decisive at all. She could have left ages ago if she wanted. She stayed to entertain the ML's possessiveness .
She got what she wanted. I could say that THEY got what they wanted, taking in account the drama ending.
Well written strong FL are scarce.
So far, one of the best strong FL for me is RuYi in "a journey to love". (long length drama)

She is very strong in her job as a spy and an operative , yet she can be dummy in romance but she tries to learn and evolve during the show. I liked her very much. She had this "human" like side.
(side note : great character develoment of the princess in this show. From weak spoiled daughter to strong ruler)

If you have almost 2h to spare, try this republican era vertical drama "督军小叔爱上我" ( easy to find with google with subs). It is not perfect but FL has a great character development and this is cute and funny with also some angst.
In this one FL starts as a little lovesickfool and a pushover but she evolves nicely into decisive FL who decides to chase her ML. ML is a green flag but FL is opinionated and not like in "blazing elegance" saying no but meaning yes. ( saying she doesn't want but staying to get what she supposedly doesn't want smh)

Yes, you are right, the trailers don't depict the entire season, only the begining.
To be fair, the 3 first episodes were very well done, visually and story wise. Very engaging to watch the show. After that, the story kind of switched from a graphic fantasy romantic thriller toward a spy romantic suspens. .. That I liked but that was different.

I did not read the novel, but read spoilers about it. I would like to read it someday. Good day.
