I've recently been watching the old episodes with all the shaky cameras while they run π Nowadays we have all these very light and small gimbal cameras but unfortunately they rarely do running challenges now.
The drama is heading towards the PERFORMATIVE STrONg InDePenDent WaMan trope that I absolutely hate as a woman.…
I am similar with you with criticizing drama logic, I made the same comment earlier. However, if you also think about it logically, QianQian and BaoEr missing is a personal problem atp in the story. She's also not aware of how extremely twisted and powerful QM is. All she knows is a random guy abducted her friend, and she is afterall someone who can take out one man. True, that she could have asked for support, but given the current war where XZ and his army are more needed, it would seem selfish and out of character for her to ask that. The only thing that slightly bothered me is that she chose not to personally escort ChangNing first to Lin'An. One would think that after her abduction, CY would be a bit more paranoid about leaving her behind. Beside, the pig squad is with her so she is not truly alone. Tbf, I like that she left rather than being suddenly made a commandant and join cheesily slaying their enemies.
If I were CY, I'd be pretty upset too no matter what his reasons are. It's not just a one time misunderstanding, but they literally put up a whole show to hide his identity from her. I'd make him squirm for a while before forgiving him haha
I LOVE LOVE today's episode!! Tbh, I was scared it's gonna be cringey but it played perfectly. Some things I appreciate : -they recognized her, so rare on Cdramas! usually FL dress as a man and they magically couldn't tell she's a girl π -she was realistic and not overly passionate, I love how she tells her crew that their priority is to stay alive and even deviced plan on how to fool the generals. No cringe heroism! -Shi Hu (the enemy) was the one who initiated fighting her. Again, I like that she didn't intentionally play hero but only fought for survival It was realistic and it fits the current narrative.
I love how no one is questioning the science of how QM got smooth skin again π we just accept that this basically plastic surgery exist in that era.
Just appreciating today how far the hair pieces/wigs have evolved. As someone who's been watching chinese xianxia and wuxia for almost 10yrs, each year they just get better. They look more and more natural. I think the wispy bangs really add to the allure.
Its not their lack of security. Its because they did not want to stop Marquis's wife I guess, or they did not…
Lol who said I'm worked up? π€£ I just didn't like the direction they went as it was going perfect previously. We're allowed to be critical of the story. No need to defend every aspect of it just because you like it.

Plus, I think there are indicators in their armor what rank they are.
I hope there is still chance he survives.
I hate for him to just serve as a lesson for CY π
When he was trying to leave his money to CY, I thought he was a goner
