icl i love how they showed how the couple have matured, not just by their dressing but also the body language. Zhao Lings walk when he was still working with salt was entirely different. He was young and carefree and his body language spoke for his personality and now that he’s actually an official, his walk is refined, and it actually feels like the military has changed him. The same goes with Tingyun, her open hair and girlish personality changes rapidly as she grows into a woman of nobility and respect. Her hair style changes from one of a young woman to of a respectable capital lady with that bun. Huge respect to whoever has actually put in so much effort in these details

probably the only drama currently on MDL which is ongoing without the rating dropping LOL. Most dramas fall from 8.5 to 7.9-7.8 in almost 10-12 episodes, Road to Splendor is only going up, so glad!!

I do hope they don’t get taken away from the plot by introducing too many characters

ugh yeah, when it’s one or two annoying continuous characters it’s actually easier to watch bcz they’re there in every episode and by ep 15 we know their nature and WHY theyre so annoying but when the screenwriters introduce an annoying character every 2-3 episodes and everytime a new character is introduced the old one randomly vanishes– that’s very annoying and difficult to watch cuz im getting into the show, im figuring out WHY rhis characters behaving this way and gone. A new character is introduced 🤦‍♀️

Foreal man. Shows where the romance isn’t a slow burn instead they grow together and actually openly communicate is so adorable. They grow together ACTUALLY learning from experience and getting what they deserve instead of having a family backing

Boring 😕 fl leaves for 3 years, too much unnecessary drama, they kill people unnecessarily and at the end when the fl returns they don’t show if she became the empress or if she met her friends again, it ends abruptly what a disappointment.
