Omg I really hope there will be a season 2. This is my first Thai drama and I'm loving it!!!

I really loved the ambience and cinematography, and the scenes towards the beginning in Xilian were especially beautiful with the repeated use of red in (almost?) every scene; I seriously wanted to screenshot the parade scene and make it my background. I loved the OST too and it definitely elevated this to a whole other level. The acting was also enjoyable to watch (some characters more than others lol), I loved the battles, the costumes, etc. But overall the drama itself was not what I expected and actually became painful to watch (in a depressing, gotta skip this scene, that-fking-hurt-and-I-won't-get-over-this way) mainly due to the cover, the description, etc all giving a different impression (not referring to the essence of the ending as that was clearly to be expected from the first episode, but rather the dark route the story went down)... alongside the fact that I vehemently avoided spoilers - which in hindsight was a mistake since it might have alerted me earlier about how DARK it was going to get. I might try rewatching it with all the content I skipped when I'm more mentally prepared lol
