why do you keep watching shows you hate? come on! drop it
i really appreciate your thoughtful response. especially the second part about k-pop and how different songs can resonate with different people. that's a perfect analogy, and it's so true. it's a great reminder that art doesn't have to be universally perfect to be meaningful or loved, and that's actually what makes fandoms and discussions so interesting.
you're right, the world isn't black and white, and neither is our enjoyment of shows. i can critique aspects of me and thee while still finding elements i enjoy (like the side couples, or seeing actors i like in new roles). my criticisms come from a place of engagement, not hate. it's because i'm watching and thinking about it, not because i've dismissed it entirely.
and you make an excellent point about supporting pondphuwin. seeing them grow and succeed is definitely a positive, regardless of how one feels about every single project. i'll keep that in mind.
thanks for the civil and insightful discussion. it's refreshing to exchange perspectives without it turning into a fight. maybe i'll give those next episodes a closer look with your points in mind.

I haven't read the novel, but I suspect the idea is/was that Thee starts of as a bit of a rich, clueless, sheltered…
i appreciate how logical your responses are. when i read them, there's no arguing or hostility, just calm and reasonable replies to different opinions.
personally, i do like the part where thee learns, through peach, how to become a better version of himself. however, it feels like he only shows this growth around peach, while he still keeps a strong guard and displays inappropriate behavior toward others.
i really hope this gets handled better in the upcoming episodes and doesn't end up being justified simply as jealousy.

i don't really like the story or the directing. the story feels cringe to me, even though it could've been much better. the directing isn't strong either. there's no proper balance between scenes, and at least in the five episodes i've watched, there were a lot of things that could've been conveyed but weren't. some of the cinematography is also overly dramatic.
that said, i do like the actors and i've watched all of their previous works, so i don't really have the heart to drop the show, especially since it has a short episode count.

Maybe you are not the target audience. I can say also the same things with their previous series (not good imo)…
comedy doesn't have to be cringe. the two aren't the same. not everything that tries to be funny is comedy; sometimes it's just cringe.

i watched five episodes and kept asking myself, "what made this series get an 8.9 rating?" and i still haven't found the answer to my question. i'm a fan of the pondphuwin, and if you look at my list, i've watched all three of their series and gave them really high ratings. i genuinely enjoyed them and loved them. but in my opinion, this series of them doesn't deserve this rating, and it's way too high for it. there are way too many cringe scenes. like, pond's character is basically built around being cringe, but even though it's cringey, it actually makes you laugh. i mean, there are some dialogues and scenes where you think, "why is this even in the script? it's so poorly done" but you still end up laughing a lot because of it. however, what i really like about it is that his acting has actually improved. i don't get that feeling like in their previous series where i'd think, "oh god, that was so bad, why can't he act normally?" because that feeling is completely gone now.
i really wish they'd focus more on the other characters. sure, this is pondphuwin's series, but the third person whose name comes up (i mean est) literally has no role other than being like a prop. i wish william had more screen time. in episode five, he basically had none. these things really frustrate me. for almost half an hour straight, it was just pondphuwin, and we saw even the tiniest details of their scenes, but the side couples get almost no attention, even though their stories could really be beautiful. they weren’t even properly developed as characters. like, i still don't really understand the foundation of tawan and his relationship with aran in this series at all.
they talk so much about being enemies of arseni, about how they can't make their love public, and how they don't even have a safe space within their families. why their parents got married but they can't even have lovers. maybe by the end of episode five, i still haven't gotten answers to these questions, but i hope they give us logical answers for all of this. though honestly, nothing in this series has been logical so far.
overall, i don't think it's as good as it should be, and the rating is too high. it has a lot of flaws. the direction isn't great, and the character development is only well-written for the two main leads. everyone else is practically just background. every time i try to say the series has beautiful scenes, it goes right back to being cringey. anyway, my rating for it so far is a 6, and i'll see how it goes from here. honestly, i think even a 6 might be too generous.

i've watched three episodes so far, and i'm sure seakeen and the crew had a great time shooting it. i'm literally dying of laughter – it's so funny. i'm so glad i randomly decided to watch "Only Boo" last year and discovered this gem, seakeen. i hope GMMTV never does them dirty.

i really enjoyed him in the series "feud". he's a really great actor, and now i'm watching him in "perfect match" and i'm really enjoying it. i haven't seen "the double" yet. i hope to see him in leading roles soon because he has both the looks and the talent.

wow, he's on a whole other level! i'm seriously amazed. i usually don't have any prior expectations from idol-actors, but this guy raised my expectations sky-high with just 20 minutes in "perfect match". because i think Winwin is a calm/quiet guy, right? and i feel this character is completely different from his real personality. in that case, it's really difficult to pull it off, and he did it excellently.

this is the third series i'm watching that she's a homewrecker in it. i'm thinking to myself, "is it even possible for someone to take on so many homewrecker roles?"
