the what if ending was so stupid, it makes me angry. it quite literally ruined the whole 40 episodes i just spent watching. It erased the importance of her struggles, their unique connection. Based on the what if ending, nothing mattered, they would have fallen in love anyway.. it rewrites the meaning of their love. what a way to cheapen the whole drama.. pisses me off.
I guess he went back to when he originally transmigred which was 15 years earlier than the FL. he basically waited…
ohh, i didn't think of that possibility, but that would actually makes sense if he waited for her. I suppose we have to assume that she was very detailed about from where and when she transmigrated, for him to catch her at that moment. :D but at least this would make sense, thank you for this perspective.
This is an interesting take because i always thought a lot of the new dramas nowadays have worst production quality…
I can definitely agree that storytelling can be lacking in newer dramas. Often times they feel mass produced, where not a lot of thought is put into the worldbuilding or plot logic. That said, I just wanted to admit that I'm spoiled by the immersion that these newer productions give me. I tried to watch this show and the production quality pulls me out of the immersion.
The last arc I found quite necessary. It didn't add anything substantive to story. I loved visual and one of the…
I think the last arc is there to ask if he is only good in her world, or does he still stand upright when power, status and blood ties are involved? because for most of the drama he is in her world. SO the ending is more impactful because of his choice despite all that. Thats my guess.
not a classic "happily ever after". It's more of a bittersweet and open ended ending.
haha yes, understandable 😁 They left it open-ended so you can choose to believe that he might come back to everyone’s life, but to me he is just as well as dead. It’s a tragic, but beautiful ending.

sorry i was just trying to be careful about not outright spoiling it, but here is the spoiler: he doesn’t die, but because they can’t destroy the mirror, Hong Ye acts as a seal himself and thus he becomes isolated. He is no longer part of everyones life, that’s why i used the words removed from the world, because other people can’t interact with him anymore.
But yes, they did dirty such an important character lol
what was the point of the "if" ending?
