Everything Bad in Lakorns Put into One

I'm a fan of slap-kiss lakorns. I really am. I've enjoyed dramas with a much worse premise than this. But this lakorn. Oh my god. It really annoyed me. It's only 3rd to Sawan Biang and Raeng Tawan for me. Any lakorn fan knows that Sawan Biang is the worst of the worst with multiple rape scenes and just violence. Raeng Tawan just went on and on with the same plot of gun violence and running away from bad guys when in reality the male lead himself was a bad guy.

This drama is all those combined into one.

Even though everyone said, "thE neW So WayReE doEsn'T hAve RAPe," what happened was rape. Parin a.k.a our male lead, "f@ck3d" *cough* *cough* RAPED our female lead, Paramita while she was drugged. To make it worse, he paid her friend in exchange for her. His excuse was "he thought she was a prostitute." LIKE IT DOESN'T MATTER YOU, GIGANTIC MORON. YOU CAN'T DO THAT TO SEX WORKERS EITHER. IT'S FOOKING RAPE.

Then Paramita gets pregnant. But I must give it to Mookda who plays Paramita for doing such a good job. She really was pitiful and we could feel it. ALSO, SHE'S GORGEOUS. Anyway, she gives birth to twins, lies to her parents saying they are her adopted niece and nephew, and comes back to Thailand only to meet Parin.

Parin and Paramita go back and forth a few times. A MILLION TIMES ACTUALLY. AND THIS LITTLE BITCH PARIN STILL DOESN'T THINK IT'S HIS FAULT. BRUH. YOU'RE A RAPIST. WANT ME TO SPELL IT OUT FOR YOU OR NAH? Also why tf does Chem have no emotions when he acts as Parin? He was so robotic and monotonous. And the mans was supposed to be in love. Like miss girl, you only saw her once when you raped her. How are you in love? Explain. I was so tired watching him y'all.

Every single Lakorn cliche happens to the leads. There are endless evil people. Endless deaths. Endless crying. Endless babies. Endless episodes. Just endless everything bad.

Then there are the parents. Regardless of how they refused to put him in a bad light, Paramita's dad was a terrible father. Not only did he blame her for getting assaulted saying that "she should've been careful,", the man also tried to marry his daughter for a scandal to go away. HE ALSO GOT HER RAPIST TO WORK FOR HIM. Good one pops. Don't make me start on Parin's douche bad dad who got a completely unnecessary redemption arc. Let him rot in for all I care. Forgiveness was never an option. AND Parin's mistress ass mom who didn't let a married man go. Babe, you're the mistress. Fix it now.

The only good characters were Aunt Waew, the boss bitch who hid Paramita's secret, Paramita's tomboy bestie who stuck with her through thick and thin and bestie's dad, Parin's brother who had such good character development, Paramita's mother and the kids cus well they are kids. The rest of them were just bad. The secondary couple was honesty goals. Good for them

Anyways, it was pure trash. Don't waste your time, go watch Kleun CHeewit or Hua Jai Sila again.

Lack of logic, police, "evidence", and revenge.

So, I liked the start of this lakorn. Lots of angst, slap and kiss, hate, shooting, dragging women around. Just your everyday lakorn things. Then it got draggy and not witty. Just fist fighting. Again, your everyday lakorn things.

What I liked:
- I liked Nabi, she was really pretty. I liked Kawin, he took off his shirt every other episode and I liked the dad. Wee, Kawin's aunt, was a great actress but her character was such a complicated, terrible one.
- I liked the premise of the plot. The whodunnit. Then it became the Weedunnit. That's when the drag began.

Character rants:
- Wee was meant to be sympathized with. She was bullied and never loved and bla bla bla. But she is a killer nevertheless. Like idk how they brush that off.
- Especially Kawin. God, if that man didn't distract me by being shirtless through half of the episodes, I would've imploded. HE'S SO UNREASONABLE AND SUCH A HYPOCRITE. He makes Nabi absolutely MISERABLE because he thinks her sister killed his mother. He literally treats her like a whore. Then he wants to save the woman that killed Nabi's sister and make it easier for the aunt. He's so loyal to his aunt/ surrogate mother who is cuckooo and went miles to defend her. It was crazy. What's crazier is that this mofo, who never ONCE believed Nabi ended up with her.
Like you were being your aunts lil guardian but that woman KILLED your mom and your gf's sister. She even tried to kill your dad AND gf. TWICE. WHY WRITERNIM WHY
- Wee had a good character thing going on where she defended her family and got amnesia but her LIVING WITH THEM? OMG. GIRL YOU FAKED IT ONCE WHY NOT TWICE

Plot stuff:
- This would've been so much better if Kawin didn't get to have his cake and eat it too. Nabi lost so much. But Kawin gets his aunt and girl friend.
- I NEVER say this. EVER. Like ever cus I'm a romance fanatic in anything. But in this drama, they should have chosen either the family theme or the romance theme. Not both. Cus Nabi deserved better than to live with her sister's killer. She should've been an independent baddie like she was born to be. A lil dumb at times but still a baddie. Kawin never gave her the benefit of the doubt but this dumb bitch, even made excuses for him. EVEN WORSE. She forgave her sister's killer and her attempted murderer. I love you sweetie, but as hot as Kawin is, he is also absolutely fucking psycho like his family. Pls leave.

Advice for the characters:
- Kawin, my boy, just stick to being pretty. And stop dragging women around. Not cool, my man. Be better.
- Kawin's dad, you are just made without a brain, eh? Like was her killing your wife and almost you not enough? ARE YOU ALL STEWPIDDD? Pls just stop being such a goofy ass and get your shit together.
- WEEEEE YOU'RE SUCH A GREAT VILLAIN. Next time just makesure you only kill people that hurt you and in secret. I love villain's like you but I was not a fan of your redemption arc. Idk why. I love that you saved her family and the love blinded assistant. But at the same time, you're like evil. IDK why everyone forgave you. I wouldn't have. Sirin that poor girl did nothing and got BURIED 6 foot below the ground ALIVE. Choose a less painful method of death too. Being buried alive is just not it. Thnks.
- Nabi, girly, leave that man. This ain't worth it. That family is batshit crazy. Go home.
- The love blinded fool with a name I can't spell, phapaeblablabla. I'm sorry you died. Next time try harder.

Anyways as per our usual lakorn traditions, the crime rate, gun violence rates, and sexual abuse rates are sky high. There is no sign of police and the ones that are there are pretty fucking useless. The people have to find evidence to give the police. The police don't do that shit in lakorn land. It's a DIY.

If you're bored out of your death or like a supervillain, watch this. If not and you want to have your sanity, kindly skip.

Playful, Breezy, Fluffy. All in One.

Y'all it's so good. They have a great, breezy relationship. I was so not stressed out. Like usually when I watch a cdrama, there's the evil ex, misunderstanding, catfights, parents not liking the partner, yada yada yada. I'd be hella stressed although I kinda enjoy some of it. Anyway, This was just smooth af. Watch You Are My Glory for clear skin.

I gave it 9.5 because in the end (ep 32), QJJ came off a little too strong for me. Otherwise, Yu Tu and Qian Jiang Jiang make a great couple. They have so many fluff moments and adult moments. It's a great balance. ALSO, the communication between them is top-notch. It's an emotionally mature show, I would say. Even the dialogue's between them and their banter is quite witty. Not just word vomit. I really appreciated the way they were playful and teasing but in a non-bullying (shancai and ahsi *cough* *cough*)

The visuals were also amazing. Dilreba is beautiful, amusing, and a little childish. She's just adorable. Yang Yang was a pleasure to watch on my screen. His jawline could give me a papercut and I would still say thank you. I'm such a simp for both of them. I was squealing when the kisses got intense.

Anywho, it's one of the best 2021 dramas for me. Give it a go.

Hear me out

Okay so I usually NEVER watch these type of dramas. I love historical Chinese dramas or maybe wuxia but the moment I find out that the male lead is half-bald, I just don’t watch it. It’s too funny for me and at the same time I just can’t. This one was my first where the male lead was half-bald and lemme tell you, I had a hard time getting over it,

Anyways, away from his bald head. The chemistry was top notch. I LOVED our leads together. Sure, our female lead got a tad excessive at some points but it’s nothing that you can’t deal with. For the most of the story, she’s adorable and quirky and lovable. Even our male lead thinks so. He’s super head over heels in love with her. He lets her get away with anything. And by anything, I mean anything cus she does a lot of questionable stuff sometimes (slap the emperor, change the edict, CONSTANTLY lie to him...) He gets mad this one time and punishes her and even then, he’s the one who’s more upset than her.

But as good as the leads were at playing this bickering couple, they weren’t that good at their other parts. The characters outside of their romantic roles were weak. There was some considerable character development but at the end I just wasn’t sure if it was worth it. No offense to our actors though, they did amazing. The way the male lead used his eyes to show tiny changes in emotion was mesmerizing. And Yang Zi was as great as usual. It’s just an issue with the characters.

To add on to that, I found myself constantly skipping because of the dragging story line. I don’t even understand why Ming dynasty wanted to take over. There were so many betrayals, spies and twists that it irritated me. The plot wasn’t tight and the ending was so disappointing. It felt rushed. There were so many unanswered questions. The writers definitely could’ve done better.

And lastly, unless you have a lot of time to waste and want to get into something intense, you should watch it. You should also watch it if you wanna see some intense chemistry between the leads. It was sizzling.

Overall it was an alright drama. Just wish it had a tighter, sharper without so many plot holes and unnecessary scenes. I wouldn’t rewatch the whole drama but I might rewatch some of the scenes.

Hope y’all enjoy

Enjoyed every minute of it

Unpopular opinion buuuuut Hometown Cha Cha was a 10/10 during the first part and then not as good. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED IT. I squealed, cried, shipped, cried again, laughed. It was a whole rollercoaster. But the last few episodes had wayyyy too much to cover and it wasn't spread equally. Like till Ep 10, the mysteries of Gongjin remained mysteries and then in 4 episodes they covered it all. Also Yoon Hyejin changed a way too much. I wish they kept a lil bit of her snappy, judgy side along with the cute side.

But it's still one of the best shows I watched. Kim Seon Ho absolutely KILLED it. LIKE KILLED IT. He is the ideal boyfriend for anyone. Dusik can just run me over with Hyejin's Audi and I will say thank you. He is amazing. So is Hyejin. She was judgy at the start, but so realistically done. Her character was such an everyday gem. She wasn't the Cinderella type nor the Supergirl type. Just an ordinary, extremely pretty girl with realistic views of the world. THEY WERE SUCH A CUTE COUPLE.

One last thing, I wished they had a lil less of the Gongjin villagers. I loved their storylines and would defo want them in the drama. I love Bora and Injun and everyone really. All their storylines were necessary and personal and emotional. But I wish they all didn't appear everywhere like at the SikHye wedding randomly. It seemed a little too planned and too cliche to my tastes. Also the random emergency at the wedding gave me MAJOR Descendants of the Sun vibes.

OVERALL

It's a pretty relaxing drama talking about trauma and love of different types. It's really beautifully done. The shots are stunning and so is the town. Every character talked about important things and about healing. I would 100% recommend this to anyone.

Most Wholesome Slice-of-Life Ever

The first season of Hospital Playlist was a hit, and I'm glad to say that so is the second season.

The second season is a continuation of the first season, and I waited for it every single week, and every single week it was absolutely worth it. Nothing much changed this season except for some of the secondary characters, and in the middle, there is an essential time skip.

It started off with my all-time favorite couple Wintergraden getting together and let me tell you, THEY ARE SO CUTEEEE. I LEVITATED AND THEIR MOMENTS. There were no misunderstandings, dramatics, or anything. They had amazing communication, cute moments, and the best song ever called To You. To You has both their names in the song (Jeongwon and Gyeoul) and it's sung so emotionally. I can really feel the love. IF YOU CAN'T TELL ALREADY, I LOVEEEEEEEEE THIS COUPLE.

We also got other couples like the GOMGOM couple, that is Chu Minha and Seokhyung. Then the Bidulgi couple (Iksun and Junwan) and Iksong couple (Ikjun and Songhwa). I'm not gonna tell y'all whether they get together or not or if they break up or not cus those are MAJOR spoilers but I guarantee you, you will enjoy watching their ups and down,

Like last season, you will see day to day life of doctors and different patients. As much as I loved this season, I felt a little disconnected from some of the patients, unlike last season. But there were some patients (like the mother who waited for a heart for her child) that I very vividly remember and cried for.

Also unpopular opinion: the music this season was better. The band practices were sort of random but the songs were absolute *chefs kiss* ALSO SEVENTEEN COVERS A SONG HERE. It's called "Is it still beautiful" and it's a masterpiece.

Overall the vibes were very chill and relaxing. I was anxious at every trailer but nothing bad ever happened. When life was too hectic, this was still humane and calming. It's in touch with the people, and I'm so glad I watched it. The only reason I deducted 0.5 is for the finale. I am underwhelmed and slightly disappointed by it. But other than that. It's still amazing.

I would 100% recommend it to you.

Happy watching!

PS: Some episodes are nearly 2 hours long. It's really a treat,

Not satisfying enough

It was average. I was so annoyed at the middle cus everything was just repeating. The ml also had way more power than the fl, and I didn't see him being vulnerable at all. It's a meh from me. The ml was such an asshole too and there was no redemption arc. I live for the groveling and redemption part. This was so unsatisfying. Like the start was sizzling, the middle was repetitive and the end was so bland.

It's a very typical revenge lakorn with all the cliches so you might enjoy it. Not me tho. Y'all stay safe out there.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS HAS A RATING BELOW 8

General's Lady was such a good drama. I can't believe the ratings dipped.
Let's talk about our leads first.

Shen Jin played by Tang Min was a pretty great character. I must admit though, I loved her more at the start when she wasn't as whiny. She's not at all a selfish character. She got married to the General to save her mother and her family's reputation, she was a great care-taker and friend to her maid, Cutie Pie as well as SuSu and she did everything she can to win over the General's heart. She single-handedly took down the Demon General and made him fall in love with her. Jin'er was a strong character at the start, and she was smart. There's also something comical about her at times which took me OUT.

Chu Xu Ming played by Caesar Wu is a feminist icon and you can't change my mind. Maybe I'm exaggerating it a bit but he is one of the most understanding, caring, and loyal husbands I've seen in historical Chinese dramas. His respect for Jin'er was impeccable. At the start, he was extremely cold and detached, but he was NEVER cruel. In most of these dramas, Generals and Emperors are cold and cruel but Chu Xu Ming was a sweetheart once you got to know him. He was so flirty, playful, and nice. It was a pleasure to see him come out of his shell and start loving Shen Jin. Y'all better appreciate this man. He had the cutest smile ever too. Together, she and the General made a dream pair.

The side characters were also very lovable and we didn't hate anyone except the evil half-sisters. Also, there are some quality kisses in this drama and it's abundant. The couple is very affectionate and intimate and there were no open-eyed-fish-kisses. Some of the lines were corny but get over it. I just skipped them cus it was kind of cringy.

The plotline is weaker than I would like to admit. It started off very strong but then there were obstacles that were placed due to the initial mystery plotline to do with the Emperor which dragged the last two to three episodes for me. There were plenty of misunderstandings but they sort it out like mature adults (mostly the General tho, Jin'er was a tad bit childish in some places but there was a reason she acted the way she did so she is excused).

Overall good drama. Give it a go. Please.

BEST DRAMA OF 2020

This is my favorite drama out of hundreds I’ve watched. It was so wholesome. All the relationships were so beautifully written including romantic relationships, friendships, relationships between parents and children and relationship between siblings. It ran strong with the theme that “the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb” where two of our main characters CHOSE their family rather than be with the family they were born to.

Let’s start with our leads.

Jiangjiang is our female lead and she is adorable. She’s funny, caring, cheerful and independent. Without her and her accepting and generous nature, this story could not start. Sure, she was portrayed as dumb in high school but that’s not her whole personality. She’s not the “A Playful Kiss - Oh Ha Ni” dumb where I hated myself a little bit more every new episode, so please don’t hold yourself back because of it. JiangJiang is one of the best female leads I’ve seen with great character development. She grows, she learns and she matures at the end of the drama but she still keeps everything good about her with her.

Song Wei Long as Ling Xiao made me SWOON. I’ve watched him in Find Yourself before and as attractive as he was, the plot line was pure shit so there was not much appeal. But in Go Ahead, he was amazing. Ling Xiao gets “adopted” as a brother by Li JiangJiang at the start of the show when they were kids. His background is really sad and the friendship between the two blossoms methodically and wonderfully. This friendship lasts till the end of high school and throughout high school we can see how much they love each other. HE EVEN BECOMES A DENTIST FOR HER. UGHH THERE’S SO MUCH TO WRITEEEE. Just please watch it :’)

He Ziqui played by Steve Chang made me cry. He was such a well written character. The only thing he wanted was a family and to make people around him happy. There’s so much he sacrificed and there was so much good in him. He was, to me undoubtedly, the most pitiful character, especially as a child. As he grows up, we see him become more confident and mature and overall more well rounded. I literally cried when he was washing other people’s clothes late at night to be filial. There was a lot of depth to his character and EVERYONE HERE SHOULD APPRECIATE HIM.

Overall, the OST was great, the themes were great, the actors and the characters were great, and the plot line was great. Just watch it. Trust me. You’ll love it.

PS: the OST was amazing. You Are My Everything is now my bop.

Amazing but Nothing Exceptional

THE Eternal Love. I've tried to watch it before but dropped it multiple times because of how SLOW the start is. The first 10 episodes were a pain to get through. There's a lot of details to understand and people to meet. The relationships between the people might confuse you. After the 10th or 11th episode, everything started to make sense, but the romance was lacking. Then Bai Qian (Yang Mi) is forced to be a mortal, and the story really picks up. Just hold on till then.

When Bai Qian turns mortal, her name becomes Susu. Ye Hua (Mark Chao) falls in love with her. Ye Hua and Susu was an amazing, show-stopping, swoon-worthy couple. I was so invested in them. They were the cutest. However, when Susu went to heaven with Ye Hua, she was bullied. Susu was a pure soul, and she really did not deserve to be treated like that. All I could think about was, "if you love me, let me go". She really does leave after becoming blind and giving birth alone. It was really heart-breaking. Ye Hua and Susu have an ill-fated ending, and that was their second lifetime.

Then Susu becomes immortal again and becomes High Goddes Bai Qian, who I did not like as much. She was supposed to be stronger and wiser. Except she wasn't. At the start, she came off as such a boss bitch. She was a queen and put everyone in their place. Her love story with Ye Hua was slow but sizzling. Ye Hua was the best character in this lifetime. Bai Qian was a good character, but I personally felt like she acted stupid in the end. The ending frustrated me, although it was a happy ending. The story felt so dragged, and I was disappointed because the misunderstanding could've easily been solved through proper communication. But alas, it's over, and it was a good plot.

I wished that Ye Hua had more personality, but I still loved his character. Bai Qian got on my nerves at the end, but again I loved Yang Mi. She played the role really well. I ABSOLUTELY ADORED THE SIDE STORIES. I'm elated about the spin-off. Dong Hua and Fengjiu deserve it. THE ACTING AND CHEMISTRY WAS IMPECCABLE FOR THE MAIN AND SIDE COUPLE.

The evil characters were just sub-plots. All of them stood in the way of our main couple and were dumb. No bigger plot drove the story except the romance. This is very unusual writing, especially in a c-drama. There was no major conflict, and it made me go insane because it felt anti-climatic at some points. There were mini-climaxes. I was waiting for the significant climax, which I thought involved Mo Yuan, but he was just another boulder for Ye Huan and Bai Qian. AGAIN, the Mo Yuan plot didn't drive the story. ALSO, most of the Gods and Goddesses were pretty fooking useless. Only Mo Yuan, Dong Hua, Yi Zhen and Ye Hua did stuff. Others just watched. A lot of them were pretty endearing, but I hated the rest. I'm looking at you, the whole of Ye Hua's family. The boy deserved better.

The music matched every scene and brought out all the emotions. The CGI... we don't talk about it. Just pretend it was good. I can't help you with that.

Anyhow, there were some faults with it which is why I believe Eternal Love is not exceptional but it is worth watching.
