ok to start off no I have not read the manga and I wrote a review after I first finished this drama and have since deleted that one. This is a drama from when I first finished I thought nothing of it but its been stuck in my head since I watched it!

STORY: its cliche! But I think that’s what I loved so much. You first watch it and you think how unbelievable the relationship is until they throw in the background story (even then it’s still a little side eye). But the story is cute and that’s what it’s meant to be! It’s meant to be a short cute not to angst filled drama and it passed that test. I do wish the episodes or the show itself was longer to get more background and stories from the characters but what we are given is amazing to.

Acting: Both leads are from good morning call so I’m very familiar with them and some of their other works! They never fail to get into character and make me love the characters even more. Dori Sakurada got wayyyy too into character (trust me it’s a good thing in this case). The supporting roles also made the story interesting and even had me rooting for them in the end they were able to bring their characters to life. They made me WANT to go look up other dramas they were in.

MUSIC: eh, there was nothing to memorable for me. I liked maybe one song and even then I wasn’t rushing to go look it up.

REWATCH: like I stated in the beginning of this review at first I put the rewatch value 5 but two weeks after finishing it I’m thinking about it all over again and I am planning to rewatch now! It’s one of those that you comeback too and I think that’s partly do to not the story per say but the actors!!

Yes, it’s cliche. Yes, it’s short. BUT!!! I think watching it is worth your while the show has very sensual scenes and honestly I was kinda shocked at first I never seen a drama like this and that’s part of the reason I love it!

Disclaimer: I have not seen the manga.
I agree with the majority that it should have been longer either the episodes or the show itself; I felt incomplete after watching the drama.
I loved the fact that they showed both mains POV of the events that took place! Yes you will see scenes you just watched BUT I liked seeing how the others felt about certain situations. We get to see both sides of their story and their lives.

STORY: Overall I did enjoy the drama but as a more casual watch. The potential was there but given we only got 6 episodes that were only 30 minutes each I feel as though we didn’t get much of a story. At times where it got cute it turned boring. I felt no connection to the female lead at all like and I’m sure it wasn’t the actress’s fault but more so the story. The story was THERE but the execution was poor. There wasn’t much angst/drama tans when there was it was solved almost automatically. The side characters had no depth or story to them which was disappointing because I would have loved to seen more of them. Also, both leads jobs we’re supposedly important to them but we mostly saw the female leads job.

ACTING: The actors did the best the could with the script given to them. The lead male actor was giving all he could and I appreciate the effort. The supporting actors definitely were given the short end of the stick given there was no background to their characters and they were literally there for scenery.

MUSIC: Nothing was memorable. That’s just it.

REWATCH: Honestly, I would probably rewatch but only when I have absolutely nothing better to do. It’s not something I want to immediately go back to and if I do rewatch it will be just for the male lead and his character.

To start off, what I love about this drama is the fact it has cliches, they aren’t done up like you would expect. While ErDuo is the bubbly happy go lucky main lead they don’t force you to like her character or push her personality down your throat. The acting and story to her character is very downplayed; same with ShuWei! His character isn’t the normal “closed off, hate the world, overly rude to female lead.” The growth you see from his character in regards to showing his emotions and also basically having emotions is lovely.

The romance is very slow and subtle throughout the episodes, which is something I like to see. You can see the two leads feelings grow for each other in every episode. There were points in the story that didn’t add up to me, I disliked, or wasn’t needed (just like any drama) but they made me want to skip them a lot of the time. ErDuo’s mother was probably one of the WORST characters/stories added .

The episodes are only 30 mins and theres 24 episodes. This alone would make me want to rewatch its not too long like usual cdramas. I almost wanted it to be longer, its one I will definitely rewatch when I have a chance.

I thought a lot about how I felt about this drama. The drama was a slow start for me. I started it when it first came out but stopped. After a couple months, I came back to watch and binged it. It starts to pick up definitely episode 5.

First off, the growth you see in the main couple’s relationship and the growth with themselves is probably my favorite thing from this drama. You can really see shangyan change through the drama and you can see its not an all of a sudden transformation.

Second, the supporting roles were the humor of the show and without them I don’t think I would have made it through the show. All of K&K brought the humor and lightened up the show when we need it. Demo, Grunt, and 97 were definitely my favorite characters out of everyone and you rarely saw them which says something!

Some parts of the story seemed so unnecessary. Nian is a singer and sings online, the show is literally named after her online handle but its barely talked about. There goes episodes where they don't mention it then suddenly there is a reference to it and then its just like “oh yeah she can sing”. The side stories were definitely hit or miss with me too.

Overall, the drama is very long but the humor of those boys and the cuteness of the main couple is what would make me go back. It’s not something where I would go purposely looking for but if it had been a couple months and was searching for something to watch, I might go back to watch it.
