I second the Sound of Music vibes. I want to watch, but can’t handle an on-going show. I’ll wait till it’s…
but weekend family dramas almost never work like that :( They're not really binge-able because they're long-drawn and can drag in places. They're not the equivalent to long cdramas. This is a different genre of drama. I usually just take the plunge while it's on-air and leave if it starts getting annoying.
not sure if i should watch this one because off the trailers it looked pretty cool and i saved it to watch when…
Just watch it on-air or whenever you remember to... most weekend dramas can't be binged and aren't even made for binging. Don't expect to have cliffhangers at every episode. This is a different genre of kdrama :)
Just done with the first episode ... And I feel I got introduced to half of Korea .... Too many side characters…
Don't bother understanding who's who. It's more interesting to have billions of characters when there are 50 episodes. Since it's a weekend drama, they'll properly introduce the character when its their time to shine and explain everything. Until then, don't bother. It isn't a fast-paced 16-ep kdrama :)
for family drama; i'd rec https://mydramalist.com/25162-romance-of-our-parents even though i've never seen it,…
Romance of our Parents seems to be a good one, but like you said, it doesn't seem to have good subs since it's from 2014. I don't like noona romances or age-gap romances in general... my favorite type is when both are in their 30s.
The Day of Becoming You looks SO interesting! Thanks for the recc, I'll check it out! I love Steven Zhang^^
I LOVED the subtle way everything changes! I'd only notice now and then, feeling nostalgic every time! What are…
Do you know that Forever and Ever is a sequel? You might want to watch the first season(One and Only) while you're waiting :)
I gave up searching for dramas like The Bond (I didn't get pulled into Heard it Through The Grapevine much )... family dramas are always hit-and-miss! I started You Are My Glory but I don't enjoy it as much as everyone seems to be enjoying it.
A lot of these c-dramas seem to be going nowhere sometimes... I'm on Ep 7 and there's no real hook. I enjoy it quite a lot when I watch it, but sometimes I forget I have to continue watching it 😅
I have The World Owes Me My First Love and My Love, Enlighten Me still stuck around the 21-22nd eps, too.

Oh my goodness I can't believe I avoided this drama for so long just for one terribly stupid reason: I thought Love O2O had too many unreal, porcelain-looking characters 🤦♀️🤦♀️ Dang, YangYang looks so FINE in this one!
Vivi what are you watching now? You seem to have great taste... :)
Awww thanks! It's nice to find someone with similar tastes!
I gave up searching for family dramas... they're like hidden gems I have to stumble on and suddenly like by accident 😅😂
I thought I'll start the cdrama You are My Glory because it looks like a very good Chinese romcom.
I watched Tomorrow With You recently and LOVED it... all about the realistic challenges of a couple who marry too quickly but mixed with a time-travelling plot that amplifies the problems most couples face. It's a romcom that leans a little on the angst side.
Also watched Thirty but Seventeen just before this... it's a romcom which has that distinct kdrama flavor— full of unexpected family and heartwarming, hilarious characters. It's a rom-com, so there's lots of romance and comedy.
You might like 18 Again... again, it's full of beautiful family relationships(though the main plot is the same as the movie 17 Again).
Hope you stay healthy through all your long shifts!
