So close to perfect

I don't know why, but I OBSESSIVELY loved this. Maybe because of Dylan Wang and the way he just *waves hands* is. But both the leads were absolutely fantastic and I thought there was a really interesting, unique, and hilariously fun dynamic. Like it didn't take itself too seriously sometimes.
I skipped work to watch this show. I was so, so obsessed with it from episodes, maybe 4 to 24ish. But around the late 20s and early 30s, I started to get really annoyed. It was the same juvenile, intentional miscommunication that was used as a plot device. I skipped through a lot of parts during these episodes.
And I didn't love how some of the "reveals" were done. Reveals are my favorite part in a story, hahah. Like if someone is dating the hot, rich, millionaire and then the reveal to (other guy who likes her) or (her parents) or (her ex), etc. Some were okay but I wanted moooooore.
Either way, I loved this. I'd probably gladly watch another 30 episodes just to see Dylan Wang, lol.

Daon

Team Daon.
Forever and ever and ever and ever.

Out of all the characters, he had the most personality, story, and especially character progression. We watched him change and grow and become happier with himself (not with others) right in front of us.
It's not that I didn't like the other characters, I liked them all very much, it's just the Daon was so fleshed out and human. I connected with him the most (not because we're similar) but just because of what all we knew about him. He went through a lot of obstacles to get where he ended up.
I was overjoyed at the end of episode 15.

Team Daon.

Yes. In this lifetime and every lifetime: yes.

I didn't have a lot of expectations going into this drama, but what I got was a beautiful story of three AMAZING WOMEN who gave this story its true charm. The romance was there, but it took third seat behind the gorgeous tale of these three strong women, and then the hilarious comedy of Chi Yan Nei and his goons. So many hilarious, laugh out loud moments.
Zhao Pan Er was the perfect FML. She was smart, beautiful, witty, and not perfect. She grew and learned, but always kept her head held high and was always so positive without being naive.
The only tiny niggle that is barely anything is that Gu Qianfan is nicknamed "The Living Devil", which sounds badass, right? But he doesn't really... so anything devillish or badassish.
But the chemistry was for sure there.

Either way, this is a must-watch.

Close to Gorgeous

I really enjoyed a lot about this. The story was genuine and raw and felt very new to this genre and very engaging.
I felt like the chemistry and attraction was gorgeous to watch on screen though.

I did feel like some of the acting wasn't my favorite, and the plot was a bit convoluted. Sometimes it seemed like a scene that should take 2 minutes took 20 minutes, just for dramatic pauses and long speeches about something that was so long-winded.

I did really enjoy it though and would probably recommend.

I don't want to talk about how this is a "spin off" or short. I want to talk just about the story on its own.
And here it is...
...
Wow. There are some parts that were great and most that were... frustrating.
It was incredibly hard to follow, especially timelines and characters. They tried to sum it up too quickly by telling us how character feel.
The acting was good. I liked it. I believed it.
The story? Christ. Sorry, but like... fuck Vee? Yeah... yeah. Fuck Vee.
I can't forgive and I certainly can't forget. I've known stories where the cheating is on the gray line and this one is not. Because you didn't make it FACEBOOK OFFICIAL doesn't mean it's okay to do that to a person who is clearly very smitten with you. What kind of heartless toad are you, Vee?
I loved Mark. I loved this character and sweetness and the actor... I felt like he deserved more. He deserved not to like a man who didn't fully, completely, unconditionally like him back.

Overall, would I recommend this? I watched this between bigger dramas.
And no, no I would not. It made another 5% of my hair turn gray.
Mark deserves better.
