I'd started this show, unsure of where it was going to go & if I'd end up liking it because of the short, but seemingly dark flashbacks in the beginning, and almost stopped watching it before I'd even finished the first episode.
But because I liked Shen Yue & Lin Yi's acting in their previous works, I convinced myself to go back & give the plot / cast a chance, and I'm honestly so so glad I chose to continue the show! The chemistry between the main leads was SOOO top-tier - they complemented one another's characters really well. I hope we get to see them together in another project!!!
Loved the lil friendship moments between the Ounce Comedy Club crew/Gu Yi's friends + the ones with her close co-workers were touching too (SML green, GREEN flags). Also, Gu Yi's relationship with her mom, and all of their bonding moments,,, (ෆ˙ᵕ˙ෆ)♡ Lots of meaningful moments, but I'll leave it at that for fear of spoiling anything.
What I also wanted to mention was how well the show covered the topics of grief, learning to be independent, and cherishing your life for what is has been, is, and what it will be. Definitely going to come back and re-watch this one!

Here's the WARNING sign you were looking for [LOL]
I never write reviews, but this was hands down one of the worst dramas I ended up finishing. I'm sure the actors did the best with what they were given, because I've seen (at least) Wallace Chung and Jiang Shu Ying in other series where they were amazing, so I don't blame them for a bad script. The main couple were adorable when they finally got back together, but there were just so many plot holes where the flow of the story just wasn't working at all. I know this is a drama/fictional, so some parts are most likely going to be more unrealistic but chemistry aside, to have the male lead continue to want the female lead to play the lead actress in his movie in the plot after all the continued chaos was ridiculous LMAO.
And the relationship between the female lead's sister & the guy who liked her was so toxic, and continued to be until they got [redacted]?! It was suuuuper MESSY.
(omg it sounds like I'm ranting, but maybe I AM after having to sit through 30 eps)
All the characters had terrible 'development' (if we can even call it that) throughout the series - my GOODNESS. And if I'm being honest, the main couple + Uncle Kaiyu aside, my favorite character was Liu Hao Ran!
SPOILER:
ALSO, what do you mean the writers k-word'ed the Uncle in the last two episodes?! And then the male lead loses one of his legs in the last episode?!?! Like WHAT?!?!?! I guess I can see how the d3@th of the uncle added to the plot, but WHY DID THE MALE LEAD RANDOMLY LOSE HIS LEG... HOW DOES THAT ADD TO THE PLOT AT ALL (AND IN THE LAST LIKE 5 MINUTES LMFAOOOO)
Anyways, I wish I read the reviews before I watched, so if you come upon my review, fair warning not waste your time by watching this ┐( ˘ 、 ˘ )┌
