no problem, if it's boring to you. I find a lot of things boring too. Just wanted to describe Bai Jue why he might be boring and why the tragedies might be hard to watch. I don't like mentioning other dramas, unless it's brought up.

Bai Jue's personality in ALP was supposed to be emotionless, a god who Xuanyi said he thought had no emotions and could never love anyone. His character was cold, aloof and straightforward. When he made a joke in his cold manner, his Qinlin was shocked. He went from hating females, awkward around relationships. After he met Shanggu, he slowly started to change and eventually discover what love is. His nicknames in the drama were ice cube and poker face. He was a loner, and he said to Shanggu he would stay a loner forever, but his destiny was changed by Shanggu's love. ALP is filled with tender and exquisite moments, and delightful humor, in an ethereal atmosphere. XK, ZDY, LXY, and JX played two completely different personalities in part 1 and part 2 of the drama.

no that's not what I mean. He's an older actor so he's been acting a very long time mostly supporting roles, but I've only seen him in two dramas. He just has an aura about him when he plays these kinds of imposing characters, he catches my attention. most people don't comment on these kinds of actors.

I like the actor Han Dong who plays Zhen Yu here. I know him from SAF6 and thought his performance there was really good, so he stands out to me. He uses more body movements in this drama, and I really like the way he performs it. He's really good at portraying characters with imposing aura, and he has the figure for it. His performance here is so different, completely different vibe, that's why it took me a while to figure out it was him, but I kept thinking he looks so familiar.

Qi Feng grabs her by the neck in ep 25 too. Later FY grabs QF's neck. Strangulation seems to be common thing.

In a Möbius loop (as in Sword and Fairy 6), there is a single timeline that continuously repeats. This means you cannot go back in time to change the future because there is only one ongoing path. The Möbius strip, which has no beginning or end, symbolizes this concept—you always return to the starting point. I don't think Chinese dramas uses theory of Mobius except SAF6.

In Parallel time, you can create a different timeline with a different future. When a character makes a decision, it creates two separate timelines: one where they choose option A and another where they choose option B, each playing out independently.

What exactly did Bai Jue mess up? That he by accident created Qing Mu? ALP is not behind anyting, it's its own story, nothing to do with this one, so comparing it makes no sense. It's only valid if the dramas are a continuation of the story, or same cast, but it's neither.

I don't care what kind of ending as long as it'd done right. For me, SAF6 the tragedies although sad, but they are moving and inspiring. SAF6 ending the storytelling is unique and intriguing and leave lasting impression. The ending to me was one of reunion, hope, and new beginnings.

Xu Kai is a natural at bringing to life that aura of Bai Jue. Beyond the acting, he has the appearance and demeanor of what you think of Bai Jue. Bai Jue's nicknames were Ice Cube and Poker Face. Xuanyi, former true god of chaos said of him - "Bai Jue hates females the most. He won't even let a female mosquito come near him. I once thought he has no emotions and he can't fall in love with anyone. He was a cold-blooded merciless god of war." I'm not sure why Bai Jue didn't let Shanggu in on their plan to trap Xuanyi. Perhaps Bai Jue didn't wnat Xuanyi to pry into her mind and find out he has a weaknes for her though he won't admit it to himself yet, he knows he has felt emotions. Shanggu's anger at not being told in advance and doubting Bai Jue feelings for her reminded me of JX mad at HT in ABAY - "and i'm just one of your pawns."

Dylan Wang clearly has immense commercial potential, and this drama is a significant achievement for him. He is young actor. He just turned 26. He's just getting started. He has a long future ahead.

I hope he keeps using his voice if he can because he understands the character he's trying to portray better than the voice actor who I read somewhere that they can dub the whole drama in a matter of a day or three days! while the actor has been working on the character every day during his filming. It is a huge advantage when the actor can use their own voice even if there are some flaws in the accent or delivery. The audience won't mind if the acting is good because good acting can overshadow some of it. I'm in favor of actors using their own voices. Even some voice actors technically perfect in sound and tone, but sometimes it feels like they're just reading the script. I know people who don't care who dubs a drama, they're just in it for the story.

it's a 9.4 over at Viki from 1,474 user ratings. crossing over 30k on Tencent is no easy feat and puts a drama in an elite status.

still at 5.4. I don't think it's going to change too much. sometimes it can go up or down by 0.2. don't worry about the douban ratings.

I read a review that cited two reasons for the low douban ratings are C-netizens have a thing about his voice dub, and the drama is polarizing to them. It's a nice review.

I don't put too much stake in Douban ratings for the reasons mentioned, especially when a drama is polarizing. I've seen a few dramas with low ratings due to polarization. In Dafeng's case, however, the low ratings don't reflect its entertainment value, creativity, and uniqueness. As long as his fans keep supporting him, he should keep using his own voice, and he is immensely popular.

the douban user ratings is quite high at 103,845. I would expect it to climb to 150k eventually. That aligns with the super high heat index the drama is receiving
