To be honest, I feel the same way. This opinion is not one I would speak out loud lol, everyone loves him, so…
just because the character is introverted doesn't mean it's the same character. There is a world of difference between Yang Hua and Bai Jue or Li Ni and so on.
Once Upon A Time in Linjiang Mountain, Wonderland of Love, Ancient Love Poetry (as Qing Mu... as Bai Jue he was…
His characters are mostly introverted types. My favorite XK characters/acting are Yanxi, ALP, Royal Feast, and Wonderland of Love. But if you're looking for more extroverted lively character, try Dance of the Sky Empire (on Amazon Prime), Once Upon a Time on Lingjian Mountain, Court Lady. Of these three, I think you will enjoy Once Upon a Time on Lingjina Mountain but it's mostly a comedy though so not sure if you will like this type of hillarious comedy. Dance of Sky Empire, he is naughty rebellious type but also comedy. Court Lady another charming, funny turned serious character.
OK maybe I've been wrong. Every time, I'm missing the dialogue then they make wonderful scenes like ep 34 and ep 36 that warms my heart. Dahuang and HT are color coordinated watching Roman Holiday together. The novel lines were "nice to meet you, please take care of me in the future". but that's okay. The scene was wonderful captured them perfectly.
for sure, cat, fish/fishtank. wonton or noodles, card tricks, basketball, cooking, and maybe apples?.. these are all Xu Kai's own interests in real life. I wonder is this typical of modern dramas to include the actor's interests.
yea, I found the eps after they got back together just fluff with no meaningful convos or settling things. They…
I could be wrong, but Han Ting shouldn't have any character developments. He is Han Ting, unique and perfect. I think the drama did not change his character but humanize him so audience can connect with him. He is still restraint and unemotional in public but privately, he is troubled which is not a deviation from his character. Even the drinking to me is not a deviation from this character because it's all done in private. The story should really follow Ji Xing's growth from her small world to top of the world, from being scared of a man like HT to becoming the rock in his life. I still feel the essence of the story is intact, but missing is the delightful bantering.
Why does HT and JX have no meaningful talks since ep. 31 to ep. 36? Their brief encounter in Germany, she just look at him and walk off after he explained what kind of love he can offer. What happened to her line, "my heart is not strong enough". She joined him to celebrate Dahuang's birthday in the park, but she gives him a cold shoulder. In the novel, they encounter each a LOT soon after the breakup and they talk a LOT to each other, and through meaningful exchanges, he finally breaks through to her, and she is willing to discuss getting back together. And all the while, HT keeps his wit, humor, and sarcasm about him when he talks to JX. I don't need the drama to be exactly like the novel, but shouldn't they talk more to each other? HT should have a way about him that is probing, just merely with his wit, he will make her talk and assess things. She is supposed to be intimidated by him and not able to match his wit. It was like that early on in the drama. Even though HT becomes sweeter and softer esp. after they start over (same in the novel), but his wit, humor, and sarcasm never dies. Once they start over, she is no longer intimidated by him but is very understanding of him and protective of him (same as in the novel). But the exchanges with wit, humor, and sarcasm between them is always there. That's the only thing I miss watching the drama.
hmmm. so they use other people to talk to HT and JX about their gf and bf troubles instead of HT and JX bumping into each other and figuring it out themselves.
The wit and humor and sarcasm that HT always has about him seems to be gone.
don't take MDL rating seriously , I learned my lesson from other drama. A lot of time they do not reflect the…
Ratings are often misleading and tricky to interpret. Use ratings with a probing mind. If you examine ratings for different dramas from various sources, you might be able to generalize some patterns. Comparing ratings among dramas is misleading. In other words, take ratings with a grain of salt or don't take ratings seriously.
