I think maybe the chemistry was not there for you. The couple pairing did not work for you and I can understand why but it worked for me. I think Jing Tian was correctly cast for this role. I like her figure and posture for a female warrior, fighter, it is believable. Most actresses don't have the right stature or posture for martial arts scenes and are stiff and awkward for costume dramas even though they make it work with stunts and computer graphics. Jing Tian really looks like a tough and rough warrior so her poses are perfect.

I enjoyed that scene. The Xu Kai expressions made the scene sentimental. You could see the peace and contentment in his face, the manner of speaking, the way he looked at her. Later, he said he never felt such peace in his whole life. It's not easy to portray subtle emotions in what could have been a boring scene; instead, Xu Kai brought it to life.

I thought Xu Kai was very popular, but it seems he's not as popular as I thought. Other actors also sing and put out albums, dance, etc. and do variety shows for exposure and drum up fan base. Xu Kai comes across like a very normal person and not afraid to be himself and is so candid, open, honest in his interviews, and not afraid to show his vulnerabilities. I'm drawn to his sincerity. He is a class act. Then this business is tough to be in. I read comments and reviews and some are not kind. I feel he is underrated while some are overrated.

The name is perfect for this movie. Wonderland is an actual place in Laolan Pass in the movie and sits at the crux of the conflict for this movie. Li Ni is a carefree warrior who desires nothing more than Wonderland until he meets Ying who stole his heart. He wants Ying to go with him to his Wonderland (Laolan Pass) after peace is restored but Li Ni and Ying have a conflict of values. He wants to return to Laolan Pass but she believes he is the only one who can rule the country. I'm only on episode 15 but later they show Wonderland scene of them together in love. the producers actually created this Wonderland setting. WoL is mostly a light-hearted romance movie with beautiful cinematography and visuals along with great fight scenes to capture your imagination. If you don't like mushy, funny, fun, lighthearted, goofy romance, you won't like this movie. this movie has a great sense of humor. It is not dark, sinister, and depressing like the Story of Kunning Place which I've only seen trailers. I supposed dark, heavier movies with sad endings are more interesting to watch. WoL is opposite of that and may not grip you although I hear the episode 30 is heart-wrenching. It is rather a simple, straightforward, and lovely story of love, romance, and how two people values clash and conflicts tear them apart. Ultimately, events force Li Ni hands. I can see why the movie may be boring for people looking for excitement, intensity, suspense, mystery, controversy, etc. WoL may be a bit too chill and sentimental for some, but the amazing cinematography and visuals are worth a watch. The two leads bantering is fun and funny to watch if you like that sort of Mr. and Mrs. Smith kind of thing. Due to the chill nature of this movie, I can understand why ratings may be lower or not as popular as other movies, but the quality of the production is so outstanding that given more time, as hype over other more popular actors movies wean down, people will discover this gem,

Xu Kai was really great as Yang Hua. I don't know if people noticed but Xu Kai even created Yang Hua mannerisms and Yang Hua vocals. He portrayed the heartbroken Yang Hua so well when Yang Hua realize he needed to divorce Qin Shi. He was going to show her the loan app or contract for a house, the pleased look on his face as he smiled, but then the disheartened look on his face as he came out instead with divorce papers.

they unexpectedly air dropped SOKP right after WoL aired probably to compete with it

if this show was really popular, they could make Li Ni (17) and Ying dolls, him with a bow and arrow, and she with her needles in her hands and mouth , and comes with a color book of them. Oh, and add the beautiful black and white horses for them.

which drama wowed you?

I love the actress in ALP. She is top notch actress. Such a beautiful love story. Oh the beautiful words that Qing Mu left for Hochi, heartbreaking.

FIYS was a huge international success and I thought Xu Kai did an amazing job.
SHPH is a fun movie to watch. Xu Kai portrayed Yang Hua perfectly. In every role, after you watch his movies, you remember the character instead of the actor. Yang Hua is total opposite of Xu Kai in real life.

If he can get more experience in modern dramas using his own voice and delivery, he will do well there too. I saw his interviews, he says he wants to do solider, policeman, undercover agent kinds of roles in suspense movies with passionate roles, as well as play a villain. I hope he will get that chance to show how versatile and talented he really is.

what language are you watching? Also, I despise people who rank a movie low for stupid reasons that have nothing to do with the movie itself. I hope you will not do that. Hardwork went into making this move and deserve intelligent ratings be it good or bad.
