Title Unveil: Jadewind Spoiler
I don't know how to feel about the last case. He went around killing people to protect her, then killed himself to help her find a cure—and she killed herself because he killed himself, right after she had saved so many lives and broken barriers for women. What kind of tragedy is this? Is it heroic or madness?

The scene where the young Pei Yu quickly yanks or resets a dislocated arm back into place is grounded in real traditional Chinese medical practices. This art originated centuries ago, often tied to martial arts where quick recovery from injuries was essential for fighters or soldiers. Techniques involve precise pulling, twisting, or thrusting motions to realign joints—such as shoulders, elbows, or arms—often with remarkable speed and minimal tools. These methods are still practiced today in China (and places like Hong Kong) by experienced "bone setters" or TCM orthopedic specialists. Videos and reports of doctors or practitioners resetting dislocated shoulders or elbows in seconds (with patients experiencing immediate relief) are common online, and it's considered realistic for someone with training—especially in a historical drama set in the Tang Dynasty, where such knowledge would have been part of folk or medical traditions. In many Chinese dramas (historical or wuxia), this kind of swift, skillful reset is a trope to show a character's expertise, toughness, or hidden medical knowledge. It's dramatic but draws from actual cultural practices.

Yea, realistically an unmarried princess roaming around the palace playing detective is unheard of, even in the…
I doubt he was involved but he is covering it up too for political reasons. Li Peiyi father was actually the emperor's older brother, and LI Peiyi was his brother only child. She is not a threat to him, but exposing what happened threatens his reputation with the court and the people. Keeping her close to him also can keep an eye on her. Marrying her off, she might still uncover the truth, then he cannot control it.

I’m tired of seeing every woman portrayed as good no matter what she does, as if there must always be a reason…

annabel yao is so high in the cast list I thought she will become an important character and not only for one…
and someone says her character dies, not only that but in the case, her face is covered up, but I haven't seen the latest episodes, but her acting is quite good. I think this is her first step into more palace dramas, and she suits the genre so well.

Tragedies and deaths are common in palace dramas. You get so used to it that you start to expect it. If a drama’s theme is women’s suffering, then of course it’s going to include discrimination.

In ancient China, the emperor ruled as the Son of Heaven, holding the Mandate of Heaven — a moral contract he could lose if he appeared corrupt or failed the people. His reputation was his power; if he seemed to protect criminals, the court and the public would lose faith. Once Li Peiyi’s cases expose the truth, the emperor has no choice but to confront it. Punishing the conspirators cleans house but shakes the court; refusing to act risks even worse instability if people believe “the emperor protects villains.

The emperor could have married Li Peiyi off in an alliance, but instead he kept her close and even had her report directly to him. Was that choice driven by guilt or political calculation?

I had that thought why ML just happened to be nearby in an off-limits area to him when she was drowning. She was 9, he was 13/14. I wondered who pushed her into the pond, and why was ML father also there at the scene with ML, saving her.

it's kinda daring but stupid
the problem is that I know she's not going to die yet, it's too soon, so there is no suspense or emotion for viewer
maybe she can self-harm in the last episodes and make us all wonder if she will die

The emperor is sus
He has such a sinister, calculating look—and in the last drama I saw him in, he played the villain.

how many consorts, children and concubines does the emperor have cause before a case one of the above mentioned…
in case 1, there was 15th princess, so we know he had at least 15 daughters, but 1 died, 1 got married off for pollical alliance
I know of four princes (crown prince, 1 died, 1 left, and child)
I think concubine died, a consort went crazy, empress in background, consort raised Li Peiyi, and numerous other concubines

At ep 8 and so far every case ends in the death of an innocent woman and I honestly hate such a pattern
there is equality. men die too.

The eunuch voice and delivery is really awesome, almost sounds like China opera, so I looked him up. He is actually a voice actor too.
