I agree! Become one of my favourite couples! Even without the grand gestures and passionate kiss scenes - their…
Exactly! Even without those very intimate scenes, we can all feel the chemistry and it's even overflowing. It felt so natural. Love how they trust and understand each other. And when Jiayu asked Wuyi to at least try his best to live for as long as he can was really heartbreaking. She didn't get mad at him for hiding that he's sick. I hope they will have a happy ending.
For the two confession scenes in two different episodes, where each of them had to emote and connect with the…
Thank you for sharing this. I'm glad that even Minghao is very fond of his character. Both Wuyi and Jiayu's character were well-written in a way that viewers can easily connect to their stories. Everything felt so natural and pure. They have such a healthy relationship. Glad that they the leads here, every scene were executed well. The emotions were there and so is the undeniable chemistry.
Wuyi and Jiayu has the best chemistry I've seen in cdrama. Their characters are very likable as well, yet heartbreaking. The OST is TOP-TIER AND SO IS THE CHEMISTRY. The way there were sooo many beautiful scenes here like it was just insane. HUGE RESPECT TO THE WHOLE PRODUCTION.
This is the first time I've fallen soooo in love with a drama's OST! All the songs I've heard here became my instant best ost. Beautiful and soulful. It made me cry and smile. Most of all, this is so far the best cdrama of 2026 for me and absolutely one of my all-time faves. The casts did so well and so are the whole production crew.
I just finished watching this and thought that there were so many inconsistencies in the storyline and characters. The plot is quite confusing, and sometimes irritating. I thought it was really a pity, then I read in one of the reviews how the drama was heavily cut due to censorship, leaving so many scenes behind. There were even changes in the dubbed, thus some parts were awkward. Yi Wuyou from one of the leads to almost a cameo. The fl and ml's enemy to lover arc were decreased by atleast 95%. THIS IS REALLY A PITY, SUCH A GOOD DRAMA. From supposedly 36 episodes to 25, such a pity. I genuinely love the first part, especially the small funny part of fl with the emperor's guard. I love every Yun Wen's part as well, he's def. my fave here as well as those dark guards of the emperor and Ling Yun too. Anyway regardless of the flaws, it was still worth watching. It was fun!
It's good but very frustrating to watch. It almost drove me crazy. Watching this after yanxi palace and empresses in the palace where the fl are considered strong and with def. a backbone is a real struggle. The fl here is submissive yet stubborn. The part where she was docile and lets other ppl trample her is genuinely a pain in the bone. Most of the time, it seemed like she just submits to her fate and wouldn't really bother fighting back, giving those villains to plot against her again and again. Nevertheless, I understand how she becomes like that and the fact that she can't do whatever she wants. But the way she was dumbed down......sigh. Anyway, the actress did a good job portraying the character The ml was annoying in the first 20 episode, only after he drove his outside mistress out I find his character worth watching. This is a good drama for those ppl who have a long patience, otherwise you might even puke blood out of frustration. Some schemes were quite repetitive too. I love the sisterly bond or Minglan, Rulan, and Hualan. Glad that their two brothers aren't bad as well. The love story of Minglan and the young lord was so sweet yet ill-fated that it can't escape the cruel reality of their period.
Overall though, it's worth watching. Good acting, cinematography, ost, and storyline. Some of the characters that I like are the grandmother, changbai and his wife, and ml's wet nurse.
This is criminally low rated. Sure it is not everyone's cup of tea and the plot causes debate, but it is not that bad. The acting is great, they perfectly portrayed such a complex character.
Just finished watching this. Initially, I don't have any expectation as I just accidentally stumbled upon this drama. Surprisingly, it was good. Good but tragic. It was tragic all throughout the drama. This really made me feel something I never felt from other dramas I've watch - the suffocation. When I see them happy, I can't help but wonder how long will that happiness last, and that thought suffocates me. How I hope time will freeze and they will just stay happy like the moment they were in. However, I commend how they didn't sugarcoated the romance. It was an ill-fated relationship filled with betrayal, deception, and benefits. I don't blame the fifth prince nor the ninth princess or even Gu Jian for their endings. At the end of the day, everything was their choice and we all know every decisions we make comes with a consequences.
Not saying this to be a mainstream hater but this drama is infinitely better than Blossom and deserves the hype…
For real? I indeed struggle with Blossom at middle episodes so I dropped it for the meantime. It is a good drama — I love the leads, the acting, and the plot kept me hooked but I somewhat became bored. Still, I'll give it a try and pick it up again once I have free time. For now, I'll try this first. Looking forward to this one.
Def. one of the best cdramas I've watched!! This and Nirvana in Fire are just simply top-tier. The story, acting, plot, cinematography, bgm, and literally everything were well-done.
Bai, Zhan, and Huo friendship and teamwork are one of the best I've seen in cdramas. Their loyalty and bond were both fun and inspiring. Glad that I came across of this drama. And, fortunately they didn't try to put romance. Totally worth my time! I love the fight scenes as well (absolutely one of the best in cdrama), and ofc the acting. The leads and side characters did very well. I just genuinely love their friendship, and for that I'm giving it a 10/10.
As much as I want to finish this, I feel like I shouldn't. Because from what I've heard and read from some reviews, it seemed like this is another "A journey to love" trope with soooooo many unnecessary deaths. I don't mind having main/side character dead, but killing almost all of them make no sense to me. It felt like I watch it for nothing. Don't wanna waste my time on such tragic story that will somewhat only ruin my mood for days. Moreover, I'm invested more on the side characters (Yitan, Zui, Muyuan, Zhang Zheng, Qinlan, and others in mask group) than the leads thus knowing how their character will end completely disheartened me from continuing the drama.
But then, gotta admit that the acting is good. The story itself (still at ep. 12) is not flawless but it's not bad either (except ofc with what will gonna happen in the later episodes).
I really want to watch this drama because first off I love Peng Xiao Ran's acting in Blood River, second I love Jia Lun previous works too especially in Love of Nirvana, and lastly I wanna know what made some people in comment and review section frustrated. The story (synopsis) was quite intriguing as well.
I don't understand how easily a butcher with no battle experience can just kill general and lieutenant that have…
literally, like c'mon that simply doesn't make any sense at all. The general has been on the battlefield for many years and fighting with his life on the line, but was easily defeated by a butcher girl???No matter how strong she was or how trained she was by her father, there was still no way she can beat him😭
I get why many people prefer Cang Xuan and Xiang Liu over Jing. Jing was not the typical strong, over-bearing, and possessive male lead. Instead, he was reserve, gentle, and witty on his own way. It was actually refreshing to see this type of male lead. I love the series but I hate how they didn't kind of put more emphasize on Jing's character or at least equal attention as they did to CX and XL. After 10 episodes or so in S1, it somewhat appear that they reduced his presence in the drama. It felt like his character was there so other leads' personalities and choices will be justified. Like c'mon, I need to see more of him, his difficulty, wittiness, and power. His character really appealed more to me. Either way tho, I love all the characters and the story itself. I just really felt it was a pity cuz it seemed they write Jing's character to be hated and overlooked.
I just started watching this and perhaps because the storyline was simply not my cup of tea so I'm on the verge of dropping it. My expectations turned out different as well. This is more like a family-drama with lots of familial schemes and it's rather slow-paced. 50 eps is quite long too and there's even a part 2.....I might not have enough patience. The casts' acting was great too, as well as the cinematography.
