First off let me say that Choi Min Suk is a master class actor. When I saw he was in it, that's all I needed to watch it. The movie was not my usual go to but I took a chance and it was well worth it. Beautifully set in the mountains, man vs beast plays out; but it's more complicated than that. We see the motivations behind many types of hunters with Choi's character being the most endearing.
The costumes and sets were perfectly done. The music! You know I never paid attention to music in shows much but I think that goes to show that the scores were never that good. But in The Tiger, it was. Music was perfectly set to scene so you cried when they wanted you to and when they wanted your heart racing, it was.
I didn't expect to appreciate this movie in such a multifaceted way but I do. It has many depths and layers and I finished it with tears in my eyes and appreciation for a great ending. I would watch it again but I don't think I will have the strength to sit through it twice, so many heart wrenching moments.
