Slice of life but make it end of the world

Unpopular opinion, i really liked this slice of life with an end of the world background they gave us.
Yes it's not a massive action dystopia where the earth get destroyed (and the biggest mistake was probably to sell it as this) but you can't tell me there is nothing to keep here.
Chatacters are really interesting with deep struggles and emotions. They are well developed and complex. It's a philosophical show with a lot of themes portraying humanity and its duality. It questions power, religion, forces, family, relationships, loss, despair, love.
Yes the construction is a bit ambitious (like the impossible heir) but i'm getting tired of people hating on a drama after zero minute watched. I understand people can dislike when the storyline goes back and forth with different timelines and cuts but when the story makes sense and the acting is that good I personally find it ok. It's just different and i feel like ppl are too much used to do something else while watching so they can't handle changing povs.
I loved the girl soldier, the children, the relationships between ahin's and eunjin's character. It blends social constructions , for example children behaving like adults bc they will never become one, marriage, pregnancy. There are huge blanks in the story it's true (we miss the whole yunsang's POV because of those cowards and it creates holes in the story) and they probably had to fill in with length or side characters that can be boring from time to time BUT besides this i find the storyline makes sense and it's interesting unusual and beautiful.
Love language and touch is this drama is BEYOND INCREDIBLE. I never saw such emotions pictured and it was heartbreaking (acting performance from the couple deserve an award). Once you detach from the apocalyptic movie you were expecting and if you focus on small things , you'll see there is a lot to take from this. The counting of days before the asteroid hit the ground is slow paced but I liked that it wasn't a story about a hero trying to save the world and escape his fate.
There's a also a hard work both visually and musically. Ost are so good. From The last of us to The Leftovers, there's a beautiful story here about connection between human being.
Yes I am mad and disappointed bc of what it could have been. And I ache thinking of what they did with Yoo Ahin and that we won't see him anytime soon. But i'm also very surprised by the angle they chose here. The flashbacks show us a lot of the chaos that happened in the past and the greed of people which let the characters with big traumas. And we face their fear and surerending in the present. The last ep was very moving like others scenes throughout the show (the end of ep9 is so sad i could kms) The ending is questionable but overall this is an enjoyable story with impactful scenes. I hope some people will make their own mind and stop focusing on reviews and group effect

Lee Do Hyun

Some Vincenzo and CLOY vibes but at the same time a melodramatic ambiance that will wreck you. I laughed really hard and cried even though I prefer when crime shows are dark and when slice of life doesn't have crime like, pick a side imo. Still I enjoyed the little village life and the deepness of traumas and family issues.

I thank the writers for giving us a characters with physical disability. As someone who had to sit on a wheelchair after health problems, it was surprisingly comforting to see a kdrama actor in this role, especially Lee Do Hyun. His acting and portrayal of Kang Ho is so touching. I liked Sam sik and the kids so so much.

Overall, I preferred the first half of the drama more focused on the inner feelings of characters, I lost a bit my interest with the revenge thing at the end but the cinematic was cool.

Realism being to realistic

The weak hero class trauma is hitting again but with none artificial effect. It's raw, the viewer is witnessing everything as part of the friends group. No music, only deep breaths, frictions and squeaks that are going to haunt me. The portrayal of emptiness is field with pain coming from silences and stares.
You can see in their eyes the expression of their feeling which is the opposite of the actual verbal communication. Misunderstanding. Fear of being weak. Toxic masculinity. All this lead the characters to a suit of desperate and traumatising events.
It's heartbreaking and devastating. Lee Jehoon and other actors were really impressive. Was so hard finding this movie online but this was worth it.

"Even if i lose everything, i'll still have you.
Even if others don’t give a shit, as long as i have you, i will be okay."

LEE SANG YEOB

LEE SANG YEOB AHJUSSI
review will be biased bc I am in love with him.

I love sport shows but I don't how much I loved this one more because of his acting and (face card) but it was entertaining with fair dose of angst. I liked the different storylines and development. It reminded of 2521 in some way and the message coming from it was truly comforting. I cried during the final match.

It'a not the best drama regarding direction, that's for sure. Transition are a bit raw and outdated but I was more focused on the story so I wasn't really bothered even if it could have been an excellent drama with beautiful cinematic.

I'm blind for the age gap and I won't apologise cuz who would not fall for that guy. i was ROOTING for them. ?‍? (Also I feel directors were really cautious with both which is cool)

Girl were real badass, dad was much of fun. Except for the assistant school director which I disliked (got scared that it would go in a toxic love triangle but thanks god no) it was a great portrait of daily struggles and humain feelings.

AKHEE

Jihoon was the reason I kept watching even though scenario was going opposite direction of my expectations.
I loved the starting point of this drama. The dual / evil personality was such a great thing to have in a historical drama. Jihoon nailed it 100%. I was rooting for Akhee the whole time and couldn't really connect with the sajo hyun and yeon wol. Though beside the romance, it's the story itself that was the weakest point of LSFI. Plot was changing ep by ep, adding another plot twist or drama cliché turnover but it didn't make sense at all. It has a lack of consistency and it felt rushed a lot toward the last ep. I don't hate this drama, actually i followed every weak release but i must admit if it wasn't for akhee's character i would have dropped it. ??

Lee Jae han sweetest detective

They don't make policemen like this anymore. Lee Jae Han, sweetheart you changed the trajectory of my life.

Old style crime shows... There's just something about it I can't look away. Add a "talk with a radio to someone in the past" plot and it's gonna become my new personality lmao.
Every case is connected to another through different timelines making it a way bigger story. Piece by piece, the truth is revealed but till the very end, when u think everything is resolved u just get through it all again. Rare are the dramas the last episode isn't disappointing. Signal is one. BUT AHHHHH i can't believe ppl lived 8 years with this.
S2 coming ? they better give my bffs some happiness.

Special note also for Lee Sang Yeob's acting and character who broke me.
