So she wants to destroy his family ?Forget about what they felt for each other .. or ? Love is cruel..So who's…
I feel like they're gonna end up working together, and LXX's father gets justice served (especially by his son). And if anything, LXX will stand by ZW's side after hearing about what wrong his own father did to her. Our FL is all alone :(
This really reminds me of Lighter and Princess. But this time it was the FL who betrays the ML 😭. Don't mind…
Agreeee~ it was so nostalgic. When ZW tells LXX he cannot bow on his knees ~ reminds me of Lighter & Princess when she said he can't bow - she refused.
I wish we had more than 29 episodes – it definitely looked like they had to cut out a few scenes since in ep 17 the transitions felt a bit sudden. I like how they showed the proposal scene was actually ZW's imagination before it cuts to her childhood memories resurfacing. It is definitely an important scene that highlights ZW's internal anxiety that the happiness she feels with LXX isn't going to be permanent. It sets everything up nicely to the motivations on why she chooses to leave him in the upcoming episodes :( Just crying for my girl.
Wait if guo Xiang ling marries into the Lu family and the fl and ml start dating won’t the ml be dating his…
To be honest - yes but not really because Zhou Wan and her mother literally are not related / don't interact or been in each other's life. Her own mother literally almost couldn't recognize her and ZW had to call to confirm it was her in the earlier episodes bc her mother basically abandoned her. I'm going to chalk it up as – mother and ZW are not related in any way besides blood.
Love this couple so much ahhhhhhhh ~ when they're acting like a couple before they become official <3 Chemistry felt so natural! I love how LXX supports ZW when she's struggling & they have such natural skinship!
no break up scene shown but just grandpa tells her to leave ... not sure if ML knows. Also not sure if the official breakup is ep 20 or ep 19 :(. I'm ready for adult arc though -- can't wait for them to reunite.
Ep 18 trailer : Jiang Yan confesses to ZW and ask why can't it be him instead of LXX. Ep 19 trailer: LXX and Luo He fight, and this is the scene where he gets stabbed since LH kidnapped ZW. He's in a hospital bed & says "ZW 你要对我负责“ which means you now have to take responsibility for me. It's a bit romantic because it's his way of saying he wants to be with her for life & recognize her as the one. But LXX's grandpa tells off ZW and requests she leave his grandson alone & that if he had never met her - LXX life would've / should've been smooth. TLDR - you guys belong to 2 different worlds, so leave my grandson. This is so heartbreaking bc ZW is really alone :(( And I'm pretty sure that guilt forces ZW to leave him.
I'm really curious after *all* of these ups-and-downs where Xi xiao's love for her and trust in her has prevailed…
I'm really curious too, but reading the novel & watching the drama so far, LXX has abandonment issues. His mother committed suicide in front of him, leaving him (a kid) alone. When he was at the hospital, only his aunt showed up and cared about him. He's someone who's grown up being abandoned. And so when ZW leaves him too – it really is the worst thing she can do to him and the ultimate betrayal. In his head its probably the idea that – "in the end you also abandoned me". I don't think he's incapable of being alone, but he and ZW are both lights to each other's darkness. They understand and heal each other in a way that other people won't be able to understand. Hence why he's willing to do so much for her. In the novel, a certain upcoming event forces them apart & partially also the way both characters' personalities are .... stay tuned :)
Love this drama so far. Every episode has me wanting more. Love the chemistry between the 2 leads, and it gives slow burn, but you can evidently tell how much LXX cares about ZW. While ZW may appear aloof or not as affectionate as LXX, it shows the contrast between their backgrounds and personalities. LXX can afford to do what he wants because he comes from a privileged background. Sure, he has family trauma, but so does ZWW, whose situation is even worse! She lost both her parents (mother doesn't count) and only has her grandma, who's very sick (in & out of the hospital). She's only a teenager who missed her college exam, but has to shoulder the responsibility of caring for her only family member and figuring out how to pool together money for it to happen. Poor girl is really all alone :/ LXX is really a green forest sent to her by her dad. He's always there for her, cares for her, fights for her, and expects nothing from her (besides hoping his feelings are reciprocated, haha, but who doesn't). He never stays mad at her for long, either (boy is a yearner). Hence, her departure later on will hurt him so much. He just wants her by his side, and that's reflected in Ep 9 when he says he just wants her to stay by him while he works on his portfolio. She grounds him, and I think he sees her resilience and independence as respectable, but also someone he wants to protect because the world has made her like this. These 2 characters really heal and balance each other. And ZW, while aloof, definitely likes him and has grown protective of him, too. EP 10, when she fights against her mother and runs to get his portfolio to the teacher. The girl is so loyal and will give her all for the people she cares about & love. Also, she's not a pushover. I think the script doesn't fully highlight how smart she prob is or can be – given she's just a girl who's at the whim of money rn bc of her situation. But I think she can definitely be super badass, like how she handles her mother & LuoHe & LXX in the beginning when she refused to do business with him. Anyways, rant over – I want to see my leads get together & start dating already. I need their couple's arc before <3 break :(
Btw -- I love the novel too! But I definitely think the drama is lighter. Both are good in their own respective way, & I do implore fans of the novel to treat this drama as its own entity too. If its 100% adapted the same way, it can go well or super wrong. I think it's refreshing the way the director & scriptwriter changed some things up. Keeps me on my toes because it's not completely predictable, but I also feel excited when I see certain scenes adapted into the drama!
